Yvonne is one of those energetic people that thrive on having lots to do. Fortunately for her, she has chosen dual careers in broadcasting and fitness that keep her as happy as they keep her busy. (The Energizer bunny’s got nothin’ on her.)
Yvonne was born in Detroit, Michigan and lived there until her early teens, when she moved to the Chicago suburbs. She began working to help support herself at age 15, and put herself through college at the University of Illinois. She graduated in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcast Journalism. She accepted a job at WMBD-TV/AM in Peoria, Illinois and worked there as a television news reporter, anchor, and producer from 1991-1996. It was then Greer teamed up with her husband Greg Batton to do a radio show on WMBD-AM. (He got to be the funny one ‘cause everyone in town knew her as “the newslady”.)
In the midst of her broadcasting career, Yvonne discovered her knack for physical fitness, and her ability to help others do the same. She became a certified fitness instructor and personal trainer and started her own business called Power Zone. (

Since then, Yvonne’s life has been a tapestry of jobs… talk radio with Greg, fitness classes and personal training, television appearances and voice-overs, public speaking, and managing her business. In her “spare” time she likes to dine with friends, play dolls with her daughter, and sing the songs she’s written herself. The thread holding it all together is Yvonne’s passionate desire to help others live lives of their own design. (A little nap from time to time helps too).
Yvonne and Greg joined the Chicago radio scene in 2002, doing a brief stint at WLS. They live in the Chicago suburbs with their daughter Ginger and Greg’s son David. Yvonne manages the group fitness department at LifeTime Fitness in Burr Ridge and is proud to work with the staff at WGN! (Yeah Baby!)
