There is no doubt that Wrigley Field is old and deteriorating at a rapid pace. However, the club that looks out from center field (I forget the name...Batters Eye, I think) has some really good food and plenty of room. I was lucky enough to get in there once through a friend. Dennis Rodman was hanging out there that day meeting and greeting...button 48 (does the Afternoon Saloon still use that?).

I have enjoyed the handful of games I have been to at the New Comisky. The tailgating was great. We had seats in the lower section. close to food, beer and bathrooms. Nothing to complain about from me, as it is also much easier to get to from the south.
I must say, I still miss the old place, though.

Not me. The 'old' Comiskey was a dump, occaisionally a freshly painted dump, but a dump nonetheless.

Aside from the (Negro League & 1st MLB) All-Star games, a few boxing matches and the 1917 WS it's history was low rent. Much ado about damn near nothing IMO. Personal memories of long ago days, priceless, but only to me.

I mean who else would care about a Jorge Orta HR to beat the Royals in the 9th in a July '77 game that my aunt called...

RFK is, by far and away, the worst place I've ever been to a baseball game. Ugly, uncomfortable, and you actually felt like you were in a dome even though you are outside.

Aesthetics count for a lot in my book, and Comiskey gets marked down big time on that score. It was the last of the cookie-cutter type stadiums in a lot of ways. The food is good, but I don't really care all that much about food at a baseball game. I also agree with the sentiment that Comiskey isn't that much easier to get to, it just feels easier (same amount of walking, just in parking lot, etc.)

Screw you guys. Old Comisky was the first place I ever saw a blowjob.
Remember, this was the 70's, you couldn't just "do the Google" and see a girl willingly bob the knob. It was a treat back then and I saw my first at the Old Comisky. I will always have a soft spot in my heart, but not in my pants, for the Old Dump.

...and to think, in the right-center upper deck, I too saw a girl spreading happiness in public...but in a more 'traditional' way, and also...before the spread of VCR's.

Damn. Small world.

It appears lady Sox fans have always been short on humility, in addition to teeth.

Well hell, even away from the hills of Tennesse...some have a reason to feel that teeth are over-rated.

But...lets not turn this into a debate about the moral proclivities of any one particular team's female fans, no one wins here.

Other than my wife's, I only have interest in a woman's teeth if they can be taken out. If you get my drift.

With Cubbiegirlhamus cluttering up the board, a woman with fewer teeth and a Sox cap on looks a hellava lot better than a pissy Cubs fan, "Shoe-horning herself into a Jetta."

Who are you people who expect actual food at a ballgame?

Who is 'Comiskey'? Did he play for the Cubs in the '50's?

Leaving Wrigley out of it (too biased on that one) the best stadiums that I've seen games at:

1. Pittsburgh - far and above the best of all. Great little stadium on the river.
2. Detroit (Comerica) - an absolute gem in the middle of a virtual wasteland of a neighborhood.
3. Milwaukee - Great game day experience, starting with pregame in the lots.

The worst, by far was the Great American Ballpark - it's just a stale environment inside, and outside it's between a dirty river and a freeway. Yippee!!!

I have a pre opening day idea.

Sox fans can get together and write a guide to the Cell for Cub fans who are visiting and vice versa.

My biggest rec on Wrigley is if you are a woman or have a woman in your group tell them no matter where they are in the park if they have to use the ladies room go dowm the right field line right before the exit there. Have never seen a line there and it's always pretty clean. Our tickets are by the Cubs dugout so it's a walk but always got there, did my business and got back quicker than going to the one 20 feet away from the stairway closest to our seats.

I don't like the Wrigley restrooms and the food could be better but I go to the game to watch the game.

And I admit to being a coke smuggler. I smuggle in coca cola because I HATE PEPSI!

Pitt is a great park. Only because the team sucks that they get zero credit.

Milwaukee is good as well. Not great, but a good place.

The Cell is good, not great, but good now, thanks to lotsa and lotsa money that could be used to fix the potholes and water main breaks instead! But I digress!

Colorado was very impressive!

and Camden yards got it right.

Agreed. As beautiful as U.S. Cellular field is, it will never replace "The Shrine" in my heart:

How could you not love that dump? That's where I fell in love with the game (July 1986).

HUH? the Cell has almost zero obstructions and every flyball is visible. Wrigley has posts in the way for every seat behind the front half. And the seats on the lower level under the upper deck might be the worst seats in baseball. Its like sitting in a cave with those very nice 13" tv's on the ceiling to help catch what you missed because EVERY flyball disappears because of the upperdeck. I hope they tear down wrigley and rebuild a new one right there. They can make it look old but have new comforts. Tickets couldnt possibly cost any more.

US Cellular has paid for itself many times over in tax revenue and such if you compare it against 0 if the Sox had gone to Tampa Bay.
