This is unbelievable. Both Norm and Johnny, both on the same day...

I think Norm passed away on Wenesday. They didn't discover the body until Thursday.

Kendill Gill told the story on Comcast. He said Norm didn't show up for the Bulls broadcast. They called his house and got no answer. They knew something was wrong. They found him dead the next day.

February 26, 2009 will go down in the annals of Chicago history as one of
the darkest days ever!

First Norm Van Lier & Johnny Red Kerr, and now Jmaes Ward has left us?

This could be the saddest day of my life, a great player, a great announcer,
and the Best Food Critic this man has ever listened to. 3 Icons.

Any word on which colored rim glasses James Ward will be wearing in the casket?

Godspeed to all.

We could get intresting radio today, if Jurco especially says that to Harry all the jokes he made about Johny Red Kerr allready being dead, like the death was always behind him or a guy with a sickle behind him.

On James Ward, was he the guy on Channel 7 news, usually Friday night.

Heard Carm give the show plan. Looks like Norm was more important than Red. It's not gonna be 4 hours of guests paying tribute to Red. They're gonna talk about other things.

That's what I don't get. Ranking a death. Why was Norm more important?

I see a few differences. They were closer to Norm and his death was unexpected. They talked about Kerr after the tribute night.

I guess. You'd think they'd be consistent. Zedderman was the one that told us Norm was bigger than the city. He said he wasn't gonna apologize. That's why they did 4 hours on him. Red was a Chicago celebrity longer than Norm. I'll bet they could have gotten just as many guests to talk about Red. They thought Norm's death was more important. It's really that simple. That's fine. I just don't understand how they came to that conclusion.

Norm was a lot more gregarious than Kerr. He was also still relevant, where Kerr has lost his fastball sometime ago, plus he was a personal friend of the show much moreso than Kerr. Danny should not have to apologize for anything regarding the handling of these two sad events.
