Murphy boycott?
Astute reader Michael J. Kleinmeyer e-mailed to ask why WSCR-AM 670 hasn't had on-air "cross-talk" lately between its 10 a.m.-noon show, hosted by Brian Hanley and Mike Mulligan, and Mike Murphy's noon-2 p.m. show.
Could it have something to do with an awkward April 11 segment, during which Murphy and Mulligan squabbled over the origins of a past feud, prompting Hanley to say: "I think the transitions are probably not such a good idea anymore"?
Not at all, according to the Score's program director, Mitch Rosen, who said the transitions would return. The main reason for the recent dearth of them: The Score has shifted more commercials to the final 15 minutes of each hour.
Murphy already doesn't do transitions with the 2-6 p.m. "Boers and Bernstein" show because, as Terry Boers recently said, " I don't want to start our show having spent a moment with him."
