I find it funny that Triple H still has the vestiges of the "Hunter Hearst Helmsley" after all these years (at least 14). He's still "Triple H". He's still "from Greenwich, Connecticut". His final move is still the pedigree. Etc.

The pedigree is a great move, no need to change it.

I've always wondered why certain guys wrestle with no shirt when they're not super-ripped. I saw DiBiase the Younger and wondered why he doesn't wear a tanktop or something.

They pussied out on that pedigree. It used to be that the knees would protect the person's head from the faceplant. They completely let go on that one so that the kid could protect himself with his hands. Was that part of the "no piledrivers" mandate that came down?

Also: I remember when steel cage matches were a big deal.

What no pile driver mandate? I must have missed that.

I always thought the original idea of the cage match was kinda lame, because it was whoever could leave the cage first won. It kinda made retreating a victory.

I thought for a while they were limiting who could do them because they were missing so many and worried about injuries. Maybe I'm wrong about that though.

After the Austin indecent no one except Taker can do it.

Rumpor is not only Falir but Austin, Piper and Snuka are in the building.

Remember Gangrel? He was like the most awesome wrestler of all time. The best part was that I think that guy thought he really was a vampire in real life. How creepy would that be?

Him and Edge came in at about the same time, and then him, Edge, and Christian were the brood. They lost Gangrel along the way. Poor Gangrel.

Funny, I wasa huge Brood fan after them the New Brood was the Hardy Boys after the Punked Mike Hayes out. One of the best entrances ever and he was married to Luna Vaschon.

How much freedom is there between ECW and WWE? I know they're the same company, but are they run by different people like NFL franchises, or are they pretty much all Vince's playthings?

I know this isn't a newsflash, but Rick Flair is old.

Prediction: Dolph Ziggler isn't getting a push any time soon.

One of my favorite parts about the old RAW and Superstars is that they would have matchups between wrestlers and generic guys you'd never heard of, and the generic guys would literally not get even a punch in. It would reinforce the idea that even mid-tier guys like Razor Ramon were superhuman and could not be defeated by ordinary humans.

Why is Chris Jericho beating 50 and 60-somethings?

They brought back Piper's Pit? Hole fucking shit! They need to bring back the old Brother Love show too, assuming Brother Love is still alive and sentient.

Jericho might be the second best on the mic I've ever seen, only behind The Rock.

The "W-O-O-O-O-O" signs are really a good idea, because you can do it no matter how many people are in your group.

Jimmy Snuka is also old. Ricky Steamboat too. Those three guys were on the original NES wrestling game.

Roddy Piper was in bad health not that long ago; good to see him looking good.

Man, that Wrestlemania in 1999 might have been the nadir of the company.

The Brawl for All. Pete Rose getting tombstoned in a chicken suit.

Oh wait, I take that back, this was already into the Rock/Stone Cold Feud. The company had pulled out by then. But why would they remind everyone about the Brawl for All?

What the hell is going on here? Piper, Snuka and Flair are still on wrestling shows? Are they gonna bring back Kerry Von Erich, too? Now that would be something. Jimmy Snuka was 50 like 25 years ago--a ripped 50, but still.

The old guys were covered in shirt, and thankfully so. Even the young guys don't look that good. The new wellness policy sucks for physiques.

I still have my old high school wrestling singlet in a closet somewhere. I think I'm going to wear that to work tomorrow and chase people around the hallways of my building.

The sound is low, so I missed who the smaller black guys are, but they're kinda good.

Is Mark Henry one of the great disappointments in the history of the WWE? He came in with a lot of the same fanfare as Kurt Angle. I'll let you decide who did better for himself.

How did they explain away the "Kane is horribly scared from a fire and can never remove his mask" thing?

TM- I would have figured you are much too intelligent to be reading this section. But I definitely encourage the hijinks.

Ric Flair's mic skills are not to be underestimated. Dusty Rhodes was good, too. His persona was set up to be the anti-Flair.

You're right. Flair is in the conversation as well. But I always hated Rhodes.

I used to go to all kinds of wrestling shows from the time I was seven or eight, up through college and even into grad school in the south. I loved the minor league stuff in high school gyms and VFW halls. The wrestlers seemed to bleed more in the south.

I grew up watching some of the crappy indy leagues around here because my cousin knew a couple of the wrestlers. A few evenings backstage at "Windy City Wrestling" takes some of the glamor off, to say the least.
