It has much relevance and importance as to whether or not WGN has ever had a black host.

Must mean all the PDs hate martians.

I always wondered if Mike North was from another planet.

George Offman looks like Kazoo from the Flintstones, who was an alien.

The OG had a reptillian look to him.

One of the two, if not both, had to have been an alien. I'm not sure if they were Martians.

If you ever saw Men In Black, you'd know that they often take the form of a human, so the odds are very likely that there was an alien janitor at the station at one time.

A martian host? Talk about out of this world!   The closest I've heard to a "martian host" on radio was a "spaceman" named "Devon" from "The Kevin Matthews Show" back in the day. He wasn't real, but "Devon" claimed he came from the planet "What it is". Then again, there's Art Bell, who most recently hosted overnights on "The Big 89" WLS-AM that was out there. Last but not least, there was a former Chicago radio personality who's no longer with us named Allan Stagg. :( Allan hosted afternoons on the former WCKG in the late '80s when 105.9 FM was "all classic rock with less talk", and was best known in these parts for hosting an overnight show called "Sanctuary" which used to air on the defunct CD 94.7 in the late '90s as a re-creation of what freeform FM radio used to sound like in the late '60s. Many thought Allan was out there as well...

Hey we have a few VS alums on the board...I was class of 97...well technically I didn't graduate but I went there from 93-96 and had I not been afraid to speak up, I would have never transferred. I still consider it "my" school. I went to the HS reunion and did not go to the one that I actually graduated from.

Art Bell & George Noory on "Coast to Coast", the big 89's UFO over-nite show is as close to Martian radio as it gets. Didn't Stagg go to the Drive or some south suburban station? That "Sanctuary" opening sound bit was from a 70's B movie called "Logan's Run". All geezers over 30 get sent to heaven (wacked ) in a celebration cuz the Dome they live in is too crowded.(the rest of the world was nuked so they had to stay in the dome) A good rental if you can find it and have time to blow.

You are correct. Allan Stagg briefly hosted overnights on 97.1 "The Drive" before relocating, I believe, to Grand Rapids, MI before he passed away a couple years ago. There was quite a feature story in the Sun-Times when Stagg hosted "Sanctuary" on the defunct CD 94.7 back in the late '90s. It was not just an audio re-creation of what radio sounded like back in the day, but it attracted quite a cult following among third-shifters. I also remember a rare photo of Allan posing outside the station's State Street Studios, complete with cigarette in hand, resembling one of those old album rock covers...Stagg had a distinctive, gravely voice that always sounded laid back, too. Allan was part of an airstaff at the defunct classic rocker that also featured Kevin Matthews, Bob Stroud, Patti Haze, Joe Thomas & Mitch Michaels to name a few...

I think there's more blacks in Chicago than martians. When 50% of the population is not represented then yeah there's some problems. As of now, even if they were desperate to hire a martian, they would not be able to.
what a stupid analogy. Cubbiesgirl, you need to go drink some drano or something as punsihment for such a stupid idea.

Is it just me or have her questions/polls become more bizarre?

I know that's like saying I became more bald, but truly - lately there seems to have been a non-Zanax type quality to her musings...

It was meant more to show how ridiculous the post was about WGN and black hosts.

Actually I think the fact that Blago was elected twice proves there are a lot of martians in Chicago.
