Pointwise Saturday

Rated 2: Michigan
Rated 3: Villanova
Rated 4: Maryland
Rated 4: LSU
Rated 5: Texas A&M
Rated 5: W. Kentucky
Rated 6: Duke
Rated 6: Purdue

I'm going with their 2-4s today. Not sure about the others. Any ideas? Coast likes Washington over Purdue. That's good enough for me. I played his Baylor first half under too.

Michigan-Oklahoma under 135, 1*
Keep an eye out and maybe you can find a better price. I have a 137 I got at Matchbook and it is still available at matchbook at whatever price you can offer. I would play it at 135, which is widely available now, and I will grade this at 135, but just see if you might find a tick or two higher number by gametime. I don't think OU is going to go nuts on the offensive end against the Beilein 1-3-1 and Mich won't have any kind of athletic edge inside or outside against the OU d.

Fuck me. :x :x :x

I was thinking of Coast after that Michigan game. He got it at 137. Good for you Coast. That's why you're a pro and I'm not.

7 o'clockers. Chase time. Wish me luck

W. Kentucky + 11 W
W. Kentucky OVER 146.5 W

Duke -7.5 L
Duke Under 139.5 L

Just to spread out my chasing I bet the NBA. I'm also drinking heavily.

Bulls/Lakers OVER 212 W
Boston -7.5 W
Pheonix -14 W

Had a nice 5-2 comeback after a lousy start. NBA saved me (3-0). Tourney was bad for me today (4-7).

Games I like for Sunday

Az St. +2.5
Missouri -4
Xavier -3.5

Can't decide on the Michigan St. game. I could see that game going both ways.

Now if I could just figure out a way to get Seth Davis off my TV, it'll be all good. As somebody who gambles, I understand that picking winners is a matter of probability. He argues with people as if there is zero probability the other side can win. That's either arrogant or stupid...and in his case, it's probably both.

I wish Greg Anthony would reach over, and choke him.

My post disapeared too.

Pointwise Sunday:

1 Louisville
2 Pitt
2 Kansas
3 Xavier
4 Cleveland State
4 USC
5 Syracuse
6 Marquette

Pointwise rarely does 1s so I'm hitting Louisville hard. I'm taking all of Pointwise's picks except I like Missouri over Marquette. I'm also doing Coast's totals. I've got Syracuse -2 and Syracuse over 139 in this game. Both look good so far.

That Missouri cover is one for the memories. Marquette Buzz was pissed, but I think the refs got it all right. Back later/tomorrow with some NIT.

Sunday: 3-1, +1.9
Tourney: 17-6-1, +10.55

I think Buzz was mad, that after the guy made the free throws, the injured guy, tried to come back into the game, then was proved right, but was mad about the clock running an extra 5 tenths of a second.

You're the one saving me Coast. Thanks. Hit your Missouri Over and Mizzou -2.5 pretty hard. That cover was one for the books. I deserved it. Have had 3 or 4 one point losses this weekend. I'm close to even for the entire week after a nice start.

Pointwise has been lousy in the Final 32. (-18.2 units). They are +1.6 - all tourneys - after being +23.

The NIT has some interesting matchups this year. Kentucky would NEVER play at Creighton, but they are tomorrow thanks to the NIT. Davidson at St. Marys is a great matchup.

Here is an early one for next Friday. I will be surprised if this number isn't higher by game time:
Missouri-Memphis OVER 139.5, 1*
Memphis is a great D, but Mizzou will speed up the game and Memphis will run right with them.

Where's Coast? It's 20 minutes until games are being played. There are 10 tourney games tonight. (NIT, CBI & CI).

Point wise has been bad but I'll give you their top 2 plays.

Rated 2: Kentucky +2 (NIT)
Rated 3: James Madison +3 (College Insider)

I'm taking Creighton -2 over Kentucky but I'm going with their James Madison +3.

I didn't have anything I liked enough to give out tonight, Beardown. I played a few small, but I only like to give you guys my best stuff. But if you desperately must have action, put a sheckel on the Davidson-St. Marys over 143.5 midnight snack. It's not a play of mine, but I have a little action on it. One of the top totals cappers (Helmut) gave that out tonight. His numbers make a lot of sense. I expect Davidson to play their usual pace. The only question in my mind is the effect Mary's D will have on Curry. Curry vs. Mills should be a lot of fun to watch.

Damn. Missed your post, Coast. That Davidson-St. Mary over hit. I thought you said on Sunday that you liked some NITs for Monday. That's why I was asking. 1-1 yesterday. Pointwise actually won both of their top plays. I went with one and against the other.

Tonight Pointwise likes Florida and Auburn. They rank them both as 4s so I'm gonna do small plays on both unless Coast likes the other teams. You like anything tonight Coast? Totals? I guess I should just take "no post" as "no like". But even your low confidence plays seem to hit. Like St. Marys OVER.

Didn't like those games tonight, though I did think a few seconds about Penn State.

I do like one Wed night.

Oregon State-Stanford under 128.5, 1*
This is a very rare situation in which these teams are playing each other for the 4th time. The 2nd and 3rd games were grinders that had shot totals around 100 and scores that landed 116/120. These teams know each other so well that neither team is going to surprise the other with an offensive set they haven't seen or prepared for. Should be another grinder, despite what Stanford may want to do to speed up the pace.

Missouri-Memphis over for Thursday night is now up to 140.5. It is now a 2** play for me. I have a unit at 139.5 and one at 140.5. The more I think about this game, the more I can't see how it's going to be anything but a very fast paced game. Only concern is Memphis' defense holding down Mizzou, but with over 140 possessions (maybe even 150), it should still get over even if Memphis is sort of locking down Mizzou (which I don't think they will).

Side plays:
Villanova +2.5 vs. Duke, 1*
Michigan State -1.5 vs. Kansas, 1*

Going back to work on the Thurs-Fri totals to uncover some Ws.

Jeez. That was close. OSU-Stanford limbo was a 20 pt. winner in regulation, but damn OT made it a nail biter...and a last minute foul fest in OT made it heart attack worthy. Always nice to win an under in OT.

completely agree with your thoughts on the Nova/Duke game, Coast...this is a classic overrated Duke team that finds a way to the Sweet 16 only to get exposed for the one-dimensional threat that they are...

Cash that double shot mizzou over with 9 minutes to go. Sorry you had to wait so long.

4-0 sweeper on the night brings the tourney record to 22-6-1. I'm still no bookie priest tho.

Great call schultzyy. gotta love those moneyline hits.

22-6-1 for Coast. Not only has he covered totals in the tourneys, he has destroyed them. You never sweat 'em.
