i agree - i cant understand why, if what wood says is true, the cubs wouldnt throw a 1-year deal at him. originally i was figuring that he must have wanted a 2 or 3 year deal, and that is why they were letting him walk. wood, marmol, gregg and samadzija would seem to be a pretty solid start at a good pen. kind of makes you wonder why they couldn't hammer out a 1-year deal. i would keep giving him 1-year deals as long as he produced and agreed to that.

Gregg will be the Cubs closer going into next year, not Marmol. Only thing that would keep Gregg from not being the closer would be if the Cubs acquired someone else. Marmol too valuable with his rubber arm to be restricted to just closing.

Anyone who thinks Marmol should be the closer just doesn't know baseball.

Had this one pegged as soon as the Cubs got Gregg.

When it comes to the Cubs there aren't many who know this team better than I do.

CongratuFucknLations

You really think Marmol's arm is made of rubber...because I believe he will breakdown here in the next year or two...and the closers role would be less of a strain with less innings.
