Not sure if any of you got into this series. Even outside the sci-fi nerd kingdom, this show got alot of praise. I genuinely enjoyed the show. I guess what's most remarkable is that they were able to attract such good actors, great FX, and a pretty tight plot on a TV-Series budget.

The ending was pretty satisfying, although not quite sure they tied everything up. I kinda felt that they got a little lazy in trying to tie up a few loose ends. The whole opera house thing even surprised Baltar and Six... "was that all we were supposed to do"? And what was Starbuck 2.0? Was she an angel? Or does she just run real fast? And what about God... have we officially determined that His favorite song "All Along the Watchtower?" Did He prefer Dylan or Hendrix?

I was ok with the fly the spaceships into the sun. The people had been through so much and were ready for a clean slate. I bought that hook line and sinker... after all they had been through, I found that to be actually believable. The show was sooo dark, it was kinda nice to see some sun/scenery at the end.

I think you have a generation of sci-fi nerds that have some good fodder that doesn't involve Alien vs. Predator vs. Jason vs. Shamu vs. Justin Timberlake. Hats off to BSG and having the balls to end the series instead of making it drag on and fizzle out.

Well the first hour our the finale was awesome. I think they spent all of season 4's special effects budget on that. Cavil blowing his brains out after he saw the Cylons were frakked was cool, as was Tyrol choking a bitch when he learned Tory airlocked Cally. The second hour was acceptable but had some good moments. I was surprisingly more choked up when Baltar said "You know, I know about farming," than Roslin dying. I think that moment Baltar truly was redeemed, especially when intercut with the scene of him telling Caprica "The things men do for love" before the attack. Kara vanishing wasn't perfect, but it made enough sense. She was real until she blew up in season 3, but her mission wasn't complete yet so something brought her back to complete her purpose. Again, with the the scenes intercut from the past with her and Apollo, we see there was no chance the two of them would ever be together.

Religion was just a large part of the saw, it makes sense that it would weigh so heavily in the finale. While some of it stretches the limits of believable deus ex machina, it's not completely out there. I don't think this was what the show was going for, but I think the Baltar and Six "angels" may be working for the other side. At the end when Six talks about God's plan and Baltar looks a little cross and says "You know 'he' doesn't like that name," I'm tempted to read that as 'he' is the Devil. Heck she wears a red dress and he wears a red shirt. The robot montage at the the end was a little heavy handed, they could have just shown one robot and make the point, but then they wouldn't have been able to play as much Hendrix.

thought it was a good ending. Perfect , no but so few things are. I loved the Starbuck ending in that it explained everything just as with the Six in Baltars head. She was an agent of God , helping out his chosen people just like the Angels in the Old testament.

Now I know there was links to the old Myths and I am trying but can not figure out who is linked to whom except that I think Tige is Osiris or Horus , but whom do you think was intended to be linked with each of the Gods?

Also was there any way for Mrs Helfher to look any more perfect in this episode. I mean she looks good but for some reason she seemed to leap off the screen almost shining in every shot she was in. I also loved the wrap up of the Boomer arc.

I really did like how Baltar after it all just became what his father always wanted him to be and in the end he got the girl and was happy.

I liked the Baltar arc the best. I also liked the ending. I did not like the Starbuck resolution. It was too open ended and easy IMO.

If you are interested, Ron Moore does a podcast where he watches the show and tells you about the thought processes that went into it. He's been doing it since season 1 and it's interesting to hear how what they think up translates onto the screen.

Something that totally amuses me
Imagining Olmos as Picard and Michael Hogan (Tigh) as Riker blows my mind. Two drunks commanding the Enterprise. The Borg would have had their asses kick from one galaxy to the next.

yeah... wtf was up with Olmos puking on himself at the beginning of Daybreak Part 2? Total non-sequitur... we already knew he was "troubled".

Don't get me wrong... I actually really liked the ending. It was satisfying. Not perfect, but much better than the usual load of horsecrap that we get in sci-fi these days.

I thought it was clear, Bob Dylan and Jimi Hendrix are/were cylons.
