Over the long haul, Coco Crisp isn't worth the $$$. Sure, he looked like Mickey F'n Mantle yesterday (I was at the game - way more impressed by that catch in the 8th inning than by the HR) but that's one game out of 162. Don't sweat it.

Unfortunately, Wise is performing just like Carlos and Alexei.

3 games in and I'm not worried. Keep that pitching the same all year and this will be a nice season.

My only question, if Wise is on the team because he can lead off, but he can't lead off, then why is he playing?

Good question. I figure they give him the month of April to prove what he can do. You know as well as I do that baseball moves at a slower pace (over the course of a season) than other sports. Wise's playing time will have a lot to do with how the team fares early on - BA got a full year's worth of a tryout in '06 because the team was doing well up until September. Wish some of the more hotheaded Sox fans would figure that one out.

I think had the White Sox signed Coco Crisp, even for less $$$$ than what the Royals(?) paid for him, Jerry Owens & DeWayne Wise would be long gone, and the offensively-challenged Brian Anderson wouldn't be far behind as far as center field & lead-off duties are concerned. This is one move that's not looking so smart right now, Sox fans...
