Derek lee had a nice Sac Fly to get an RBI tonight, on a oppo fly ball, so he did contribute that along with a walk. But Lee is now 2-26. Thats PATHETIC.

Marmol was lights out and Gregg was as shaky as a long tailed cat in a room full of rockin chairs. He did nothing to quell the closer talk. I am guessing that Marmol takes over the closers role by June 1st.

Still, it was great to take both the series in Houston and then against the Brewers at Wrigley North. Taking 4 of 6 on the road is pretty sweet, to start the season. Taking the series in Milwaukee, after losing game one (which they should have won) was especially nice.

gregg is going to be fine. i didnt see the injury to milton bradley, was it serious?

while i still think the idea of benching lee for hoffpauir is lunacy, i do wonder at what point they flip-flop ramirez and lee in the lineup (i only can assume bradley isnt too badly hurt, and would continue batting cleanup), or send lee further down. he is a classic case of warning track power. even when he seems to get good wood on it, it has no carry at all.

i like what i see from this club so far. patience at the plate, some decent pitching, good defense, and soriano looks like he could be poised for a big year. he really is swinging confidently. 4-2 road trip to start the year against division rivals, i would have gladly taken that result if offered on opening day.

strained groin for bradley. since groin injuries are usually nagging, my guess is they'll put bradley on the 15 day DL just to be safe.

I agree about Lee. Don't think he needs to be benched, but I don't see the point in keeping him in the 3 hole.

Lee has never hit well in the early months of the season, with the exception of 2005. I say give him until July in the three hole at least. Everyone stop freaking out. Its only what now, the sixth game of a 162 game season? I like Relax more than Panic.

Once again when it comes to the Cubs I am right on the money. Not many who know this team better than I do folks. I don't say much about the Cubs but when I do it is pretty much right on.

Not true....Lee produced his best numbers last season in April. He was hitting around .400, with 8 homers and leading the league in homers and RBI. Then, he hit just 12 more homers the rest of the season

Weeks looks like he figured out how to play baseball a little bit. And it certainly seems like he gets his giddy up for playing the Cubs. Thank god Milwaukee's bullpen sucks as bad as the Cubs bullpen.

I had heard that Willie Randolph (new Brewers coach) was working a lot with Weeks on both his defense and hitting. the Brewers say it seems to be paying off. Rickie was always a guy who appeared to have all the tools. But like Corey Patterson, never seemed to put it all together. Maybe Randolph had the right approach and was able to get through with Weeks. If so, he might be a standout player now. I think Randolph is going to prove to be a great addition to that coaching staff. Just having Ned Yost out of their dugout, makes them 3-4 games better.
