I think Owings gets smoked tonight. Cueto comes out on top tomorrow and Harang and Zambrano keep their teams in the game and it's decided late.

Ironically, they may have to pitch around Owings. As a pitcher, he's a helluva hitter.
Jay Bruce going to play?

As of yesterday, the plan was to return to the lineup tonight.

I'd like to see Owings hit in front of Gonzalez and Hernandez.

bruce is on my fantasy team and my update says this

Bruce (hand/wrist) tested his strength in batting practice before Monday's game, but his status for Tuesday's game in Chicago is uncertain, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

I am headed to the game tonight....I just hope it doesnt snow. But that being said I think the Cubs are going to whack around Owings tonight and with 2 days for the bullpen to rest I am forseeing the first Cubbie sweep of the season. That is of course if they can hold Willy Mays....I mean Tavares in check.

Love how the grounds crew guy yanked it up by it's tail and put IN THE STANDS!

Great line by Brenly: "When I walk in the radio booth it smells like cats."

Lee does not and has never gone to his right well. He should have had that grounder by Bruce. He lets far too many of those get by him. He blows.

I don't take Hoff-power down for Johnson in this situation.
Does Lou even manage anymore or is he just push button?

My first thought was... no way can Hoff hit that pitch. But obviously, Reed couldn't either.

Milton Bradley really is impressing the home folks today :(

The way Aaron Miles swings the bat from the left side reminds me of Larry Bowa, circa 1984, which is not good. I am not even looking for a basehit, just one hard hit ball.

How about Mickey Morandini? Christ, the next hard hit ball will be Miles first. He should play only against lefties. Hoff-Power should have given Lee the day off. He is the only one that is hitting the ball hard.

When hitters 4 through 9 do the collective doughnut (through one out in the 8th as I type), you're not going to get much done. Miles is hardly alone tonight in the collective act of futility.

No shit, why the hell is Weathers still in the league and making making Cub hitters look like shit? He can't bust a fucking grape.

Miles sucks. One thing I love is shitty players slamming their bat after they flyout (Lee). What was he expecting, he blows.

In the classic Cub killer formula, he killed us before he was a Cub, killed us when he was a Cub, and kills us as an ex-Cub. Fucking priceless.

Guzman doesn't surprise me. He's here because he's out of options and owed a shitload of money. Gregg... that's bothersome.

I agree, however, did you see that come-backer he threw Fukudome to stike him out? That was Maddux-like.

Then we see just another reason Lee shouldn't bat 3rd. No fear from the pitcher to throw strikes to him. Ramierez needs to bat 3rd.
