Ibanez: 3 years, 30 million to Philly
Bradley: 3 years, 30 million to Chicago Cubs

Ibanez: .342 6 HR, 16 RBI .402 OBP
Bradley: .043 1 HR, 1 RBI .290 OBP

Yes, it's early and hindsight is 20/20. What a fucking joke this guy is. I realize that Ibanez is older, but aren't we trying to win now? So he gives you a year and a half out of a 3 year contract. Won't Bradley give you the same thing, if you look at his injury history?

And Milton, I've got a special "Fuck You" for your ignorant remarks. Fans boo people because of a player's poor play. I would say that 99.7% boo because of this. I'm not booing your woefully-underperforming ass because your skin is black. And Cubs faithful won't be wearing their white sheets, bring pitchforks and nooses and start chanting racial slurs at you because you can't hit. So enough with the racial remarks garbage. Might he hear some? Maybe. There are idiots in every fan base. Just like there are idiots on every baseball club (Milton).

What an unbelievable bust this guy is already. It's April. I don't care. I'll say it. Fuck you for the racist paranoia, dipshit. Start hitting.

And one other side note. What the hell does Aaron Miles bring to this team? I bet when his wife takes off his pants, she finds a pussy.

Milton's contract is really only 2 years.

That makes it better. We signed a DH who has never been able to stay healthy, coming off a contract year. So we only have to wait out this asshole this year and next year? Great.

I wouldnt mind if he wasnt hitting, but he is being a bitch and sitting out with an injury you usually only get if you are out of shape, and the ejection doesnt help his cause.

It's early, give it time. He was the best hitter in the entire AL last year. He'll hit.

His attitude does suck, but once he gets in a groove you'll forget about it.

Ibanez is not nearly that good and Bradley is not nearly as bad the stats show. Things will even out.

I don't see him lasting long here though. His act will get tired.
How long was Albert Belle with the White Sox, three years?

Hope you're right. He's a designated hitter playing right field for us. He had a nice season, but I can think of 5 AL hitters I would rather have than Bradley, and who had a better season. Josh Hamilton would be one. Too bad we didn't have him. Oh, wait.

2 years/$20M (2009-10), plus 2011 option

signed by Chicago Cubs as a free agent 1/6/09
$4M signing bonus
09:$5M, 10:$9M, 11:$12M option

2011 may become $12M club option with $2M buyout based on Bradley's health
2011 option vests with 75 games played in 2009

I bet this dipshit plays 76 games this year. Just enough to make that option vest. Great. And Ibanez had more home runs and RBI's last year than Bradley. Bradley had the higher average and on base percentage. Yet he played in far fewer games. Josh Hamilton would be a nice power-hitting left-handed hitting outfielder, but we sold him for 50 grand instead of giving him a look in spring training 2 years ago. No one knew he would break out like that, but scout your own players, Hendry. Anyone notice the numbers Jake Fox is putting up in AAA? I wonder if he could play an adequate right field while D.P. Lee is out.

We never really had Hamilton. We were picking for the Reds... it was all pre-determined.

Glad we could be so accomodating for the Reds. At least our scouting department found us David Patton in the Rule 5 draft. I've seen enough of that guy already. Fastball with no movement, and a curve that doesn't break.

ive wanted ibanez for a couple years now. he put up really quiet great seasons with the mariners but nobody cared because he wasnt a personality and the mariners suck. he will put up 30/100 for the phillies this year and he will stay healthy. age shouldnt matter theyre not looking for a franchise RF. just someone that can put them over the top now and bradley is not going to do that. its already apparent

I don't really care about Ibanez one way or the other but I have to agree that I am getting real tired of Bradley and his act. Take your suspension already and if you can only pinch hit get on the DL. The Cubs are carrying 3 position players of their roster that cant play the field and 1 pitcher. Plus another 1 .... Soto who I think is seriously hurt. 5 SB's last night? Really? Brenly was covering for him but he doesnt look right and I dont know if I have seen him hit a ball solidly all year. Yeah its early but some of these numbnuts better start playing some baseball otherewise it will get late real quick.

well said, phil.

to me, the absolute worst thing that could happen to this team has happened: ramirez getting hurt. lets hope he gets back soon. bradley getting hurt sucks too, especially since the WHOLE FUCKING WORLD knew it was going to happen and they signed him anyway, but in the back of my mind i have always thought they could afford to have bradley go down with a fairly deep roster of outfielders. with ramirez, there is absolutely nothing there to fill that spot if he goes down long-term.

soto looks really really bad, and i am giving him the benefit of the doubt that he is hurt. if that is the case he needs to sit. being the reigning rookie of the year isnt enough of a resume to get too long of a free pass. play hill and let soto sit and get his shit together for now. hill is not a replacement for soto long-term, but soto needs to get out of there for a few days. he looks lost and scared, like he doesnt know what the hell to do.

there's more to look at that shows they won't be fine. what exactly are the positives they can carry into the rest of the season?

there are more if's with this team than a page of SQL code.

Throw in another 2 for 3 tonight for Ibanez. With another solo home run. At least Milton is back tonight. Over or under 3 strikeouts for Milton tonight?

why do you care if Bradley talks to the media?

And there's plenty of racist Cubs fans in the right field bleachers. If you don't think so, it's cause you haven't sat there often enough. No amount of money earned is an excuse to use language consistant with some frequent denzions of the RF stands. It's ridiculous.

I've sat in the rf bleachers at least 40 times over the last 5 years. In that time, I've heard one racist remark, which was directed at Jacque Jones. Everyone within earshot of the remark started yelling at that person, and he was escorted out for fear of his personal safety. So your assertion that right field is full of racists is asinine, as is your post. I said that racist behavior is unacceptable, and everone agrees. So what exacly are you arguing? And what are denzions? If you were trying to use your thesaurus to beef up a moronic, less-than-intelligent post, the word you were looking for, Reverend Sharpton, was "denizens."

No shit. There's a big difference between typing fast and missing the "y" in a word and trying to use a word you have no clue how to spell in an effort to sound smart. Shouldn't you be playing some geeky computer game and sharing the results of your play with the world?

Saw a good post on this topic on MLBTR. Bradley is among some good company in the "Free Agents not performing up to par" group.

CC, Teixeira, Burnett, Furcal, Wood to name a few.

Wood took a loss the other day, but he already has 4 saves. Thats not too bad for a Cleveland team that struggled out of the gate.
