Of course not Frank, you are never wrong. It is your board, the rest of us are just taking up space.

You know what, this team can kiss my ass. Today’s loss just proves what I said during the off-season, they did nothing to improve the team, they signed a right fielder who is going to be hurt a lot and bitch the rest of the time, their middle relief sucks, they have a bench player playing second, the first baseman that cant hit for power. Plus they re-sigh Dumpster, who wont win 11 games and traded for a closer who cant go through one inning without giving up a run. Same shit, different year, this team isn’t worth getting excited about, new owner or not and if the new owner gets the team, they wont win, because it has become clear he wont spend any money and I am telling you now, if the sale is complete by the trade deadline and this team is more then 7 games out, they will be trading off A-ram, Zambrano and whoever else they don’t want to pay. They can have it, I am done, no, I am fucking done with this shit. Keep Wrigley, keep the neighborhood fans and keep the kick in the nuts year after year, it isn’t worth it.

Not mad at all.

The Sox are not exactly tearing things up either.

Dempster is bad, and Hendry took the bait in the offseason. He overpaided for him big time. What you saw in game 1 of the playoffs was the real Dempster, not the guy that pitched the first 6 months. Gregg and Marmol were horrible, 7 walks combined. This is one of the worst bullpens I have seen. Really hope the new owners hold Hendry accountable for this.

Who's mad at you? I think you're hilarious. Cubs struggles are the salve you apparently need. The good news is that it doesn't look like you'll run out of ointment any time soon.

Yes, the Cubs do not look very good right now...but just take a moment and look at what is reality. They are 10 & 10....have lost three straight series'....and have been playing a lot of their games without their 3rd baseman, 1st baseman, and right fielder. Pitching is so-so....but it is early and they are only 4 games back. I'm not all "warm & fuzzy" about this team & do not assume they are going to win anything....but there are 140 games left, we will have a new owner who may want to make an impact, we have a lot of quality pitching, a manager who has won a lot of regular season games (playoffs - another story), and cubs should be able to make some moves / trades if needed at the deadline.

They look really bad and uninterested, but the weather has not even turned and they are a 500 club sitting 4 games out at the end of april. I can live with that....for now.

+1

If this was the middle of July and the Cubs go thru a stretch like this, its not as big of a deal. Since it is the middle of the season everything is magnified.

I expect Fukodome OPS to drop below 1.000 as the season moves on, and I expect Lee, Soto and Bradley to contribute more than what they have done so far.

And Ramirez, who is the best hitter and off to a hot start, has only played 13 out of 20 games.

The pitching worries me more than the lineup. Dempster has reverted to what many people thought he was before last season, a .500 type of pitcher. And Gregg hasn't shown me much either. But Heilman and Marmol have looked good for the most part.

Also the Cubs need to do something with Gathright. In the NL you can't have 2 one-dimensional players on the bench. You can't have Hoffpair, who appears under Piniella to be just a left handed pinch hitter, and Gathright, who appears to used only as a pinch runner, taking up 2 spots on the roster.

Either use Gathright as a defensive replacement late in games, or get rid of him.

Do yo mean beginning of the season? If so, I agree.

The Cubs have a good team and things will begin to even themselves out soon. The season just started. You have guys with 0.00 ERA's and guys batting over .400. That wont' be true in July.

For the Reds, Volquez started like shit and I began to question the Josh Hamilton trade. Then I noticed that he's not doing much at the plate in Texas. IN Volquez last two starts he's given up a grand total of two hits.

If I was a Cub fan, I'd be more concerned about the Cardinals and Wainwright, Carpenter, and Lohse (can't believe the Reds let him go for nothing).

Whom the GM failed to get quality backups for. And its not like these guys haven't spent significant time on the DL in the past. Right now, the Cubs are lucky they are 10-10.

just think how bad things were when lou first took over and big z and barrett punched each other out in the dugout and everyone thought the team was going to implode. they righted the ship and took the division. they need to get healthy and possibly make a couple pre deadline deals and they will fight for this division with the cardinals

No..they ARE 10 & 10. The luck has been good & bad. I could start BS-ing and say without the unjuries and without this & with that....if this & if that...they could be 15 & 5. Then you white-sox lovin ass would come up with a way to tell me how they should be 5 & 15. They ARE 10 & 10...they ARE 4 games back....and it is April fricken 30th. Go cheer on your awesome 11 & 10 whitesox and tell me what your GM has done to provide quality backups.

Had your savior of a GM gotten quality backups for the injury plagued guys that (surprise!) are down right now, the Cubs would be better than .500.

But all is good in Wrigleyville yeah? Stars will align in 2009 right?

He's not interested in that. It seems far more cathartic for him to indulge in a little schadenfreude. I hope the Sox do indeed do well. It will mean less Frank time around here.

Actually the backups for the most part have done a very good job and it some cases have played better than their starting counterparts..

Koyie Hill is batting around .300 and has played better than Soto, Hoffpauir has played pretty well and has hit better than Lee so far and Fukdome has filled in nicely in right and Johnson is a pretty good 4th outfielder.

The one problem is that there is no backup third baseman, but its not like your going to replace the offensive production from Ramirez with a backup.
