Jimmy, that's "Garfield Goose & Friends", featuring the late Frazier Thomas from when I was growing up! That photo's gotta be at least 30 years old, long before WGN Channel 9 became a coast-to-coast Superstation on cable & satellite, now known as WGN America, and before the 9 we all know became part of the CW Network...It makes me feel old seeing that photo, but that was WGN way back in the day when children's programming was a bigger deal than it is now.

I remember getting a postcard with this picture on it from WGN. I found this on the
internet of course. It was a great show along with Ray Rayner,Bozo & BJ and the Dirty Dragon on FOX.

Ray Rayner was the shit! If it wasn't for him, I never would have gotten out of bed for school.

I heard a funny Chelveston the duck story a few years ago. Apparently there were several Chelvestons. Whomever provided the duck to WGN used to leave him in a cage outside of the WGN studio. This wouldn't be a problem in the summer, but it was in the winter. On more than one occasion, the first person arriving at the studio was greeted by a frozen ducksicle on the doorstep. Where is PETA when you need them?

Yeah, that's where I heard it. Skilling told the story on Roe & Garry.

I was a big Ray Rayner fan myself growing up. He always sported a jumpsuit complete with post-it notes, showed classic Warner Bros. cartoons featuring Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Daffy Duck & others, plus every holiday season, the "Hard Rock & Jo-Jo" classic in black & white...Also, whenever Ray told the Cubs & White Sox on his show, he had that two-sided baseball cap on set, along with Chelveston the Duck "quacking" up on the floor, provided by Chicago's own Animal Kingdom on Milwaukee Ave. Last but not least, when Ray wrapped up his show back in the day, the credits would roll complete with the Warner Bros. "Merrie Melodies" fanfare in the background...
