With all the love ESPN Chicago is getting from the mother ship because of the new web site, it's only right that we focus on the national sports issue at hand.

Are you serious? I have a completely different opinion of the new ESPN Chicago website. I think a major part of it is another way to nationalize their radio stations. Look at WMVP, in the past few months they have eliminated a great deal of local programming and local hosts. If people want local sports news, well they can go online to ESPNChicago.com now. They want to streamline everything because it will lower costs. They can then use the radio airtime to discuss the current ESPN mothership talking points.

Some current examples of those are:
Brett Farve
Manny
A-roid
Yankees/Red Sox
Lebron

Id prefer no hockey talk to the meathead hockey talk that would arise if they address it on the show.

I think the hardcore Hawks fans just need to sit tight a little bit. While "hockey is definitely" back in Chicago, the new wave of fans still won't be able to get in to, or enjoy in depth radio analysis. The new fans don't have a strong enough understand of the game, the flow, other teams/players, etc, to get in to the real nitty gritty of hockey... yet.

If the Hawks can keep putting this type of product out there year after year, this will change.

Enough of the bumbling and fumbling--Give up the hockey talk. They did fine for 2 years without it, why start now?

"Silvy and Widdle talk hockey like we screw." "Don't flatter yourself, old man."
