I'm sure Buryman stands ready to help with this event. I'm putting up a poll for a date and the golf course at this point would be Del Webb. Would love to see this happen this summer...post if Sunday's work better...

how good? Can you hold a golf club? Can you swing it? Can you hold your golf cart speed under 60 MPH? If so, you are qualified...

Do I need to use both hands on the club or could I just use one and have a beer in the other?

I vote for a course north of I-90 and east of Rte. 53 and south of Rte 173.

Well why don't we just book a course in Saskatoon?

It'll be good to get you out of Cuba for a bit Frank. We have these things up here called "trees" and the sky doesn't glow orange at night.

My June is pretty full, I'll be in town the weekend of the 20th but have Cubs day game then Kane County Cougar night game scheduled. I will be happy to help with tee times and rates. Del Webb course in Huntley is called Whisper Creek, current GolfNow.com weekend rates are $68 before 9:30am, $54 before 2pm, $35 before 3pm and $30 after 3pm. GolfNow.com HOT DEAL special is 1:28 and 1:44, which I can price around $35-$40 per player. All those rates are 18 holes with GPS enabled cart.

Let me know, 24 hour cancellation policy in effect or you will be charged for no show or short show.

Hmmm... this event is only 50 miles from my house, one of the closer ones.

I will wait to see what date is decided on and see if I am available. I think my June
is pretty open so far.

T-Bone,
I'd be up for putting a foursome together and playing Brighton Dale this summer.

A CSFMB outing on the 28th works for me.

That could likely be arranged. Lots of good courses between you and I
but Brighton Dale isn't bad. Played out there about a month ago. Any
other northern CSFMBers interested? How did you come up with Brighton
Dale by the way?

It's relatively close and cheap....and a guy I work with has a daughter that works there. so, could be even cheaper.

we could just go play white deer run in vernon hills and get our asses handed to us. that'd be cheap too as my neighbor is one of the golf pros there.

I've been meaning to learn the game for a while now. Never really had time. I'm also not interested in buying clubs for a sport that I may end up sucking at and not liking very much.

So rent em or borrow em...it can be fun if you go in just trying to have fun and not trying to be good.

or you could just ride around in the Cart taunting fellow CSFMBers on their terrible shots.

I know what you mean Ivan. Golf is expensive to get into. If you go to a place like
Golf Galaxy they usually have a really good selection of used clubs at reasonable prices.
The staff there can usually point you in the right direction and even let you hit the
clubs in the cage. I bought used from them a few years back when I found a set I
had been looking for that the company didn't make any longer. Originally a $900 set
was $250 and in good shape. Just a thought if you were more than casually interested
in taking up the game.

Cool. I was a member out there last year so very familiar with it. I guess we will see if anyone
else might be interested in playing and we'll figure out a weekend. I know Beebo is a Lake Co.
guy, not sure who else.
