Anyone else see the guy with the puffy and bleeding eye after taking a foul ball off the face last night. Funny stuff.

Perhaps the fact that he has been unable to fix Fields, Alexi Ramirez, Jerry owens, etc....is the reason people are talking about whether or not he should be fired :!:

Why no Thome? He hit 2 HR's off lefties yesterday. I understand that Lee is MUCH better than those two guys but if Thome is starting to get comfortable at the plate I want him in the lineup no matter who is on the mound. Plus he REALLY likes hitting at the Jake (it's still the Jake to me).

No shit. Thome has barely been on base to hurt himself anyway.

Walt, you above everyone else, have zero room to call somebody one of "Jerry's Kids"

As advertised, Jayson Nix is starting at second base today ahead of Chris Getz, while Scott Podsednik is in left field again for Carlos Quentin, Wilson Betemit is DH-ing for the injured Jim Thome & Alexei Ramirez back at shortstop.

Ranger, how bad is this team really?
Obviously some fans have a different panic level than those in the media, but these guys stink.

Don't let Cliff Lee's poor record fool you...The Indians hadn't been scoring runs for him, until today...

Did you see the way the the ump jumped out of the way of Germaine's helmet like it was a live grenade?

So im guessing MLB looks at that as Germ throwing his helmet at the ump...probably a suspension in the future for the W.S. MVP

Sox get shutout for the 6th time this year. Time to give Walk an extension

This team absolutely sucks. I will be very surprised if they will take any from the BJs this weekend.
I don't know how much longer this team needs to wait until they officially blow it up this year and rebuild.
This team has no life, no energy and no direction. The Sox have been shutout the most in MLB and its downright embarrassing.

I am just pushing the panic button too quickly or is this team just a shell of its former self?

You are pushing the panic button MUCH too quickly. It's the middle of May and they are 3.5 games behind in a division that will not be running away from them.

As for blowing it up, no one is taking on those big contracts. Even if a trade can be made, teams will give up nothing in return, only half a year's salary relief. Really, the only person who will have trade value in late July will be Colon...and what is he going to get you?

Good Dolphin brings up a very valid point about trying to trade vets w/big contracts at the MLB Trading Deadline. I know he's at Triple "A" Charlotte, but you can't get a 12 pack of Miller Lite or Pepsi for Jose Contreras right now. Paul Konerko's has a "no trade" clause given the fact he's been in the bigs for 10 years, and at least 5 with the White Sox. Jim Thome can't play the field like he used to, and you can't trade him to a National League team. Get the picture?

Ranger has it pegged if this team finishes last. No one will be responsible.

2 more strikeouts today. If he keeps up this pace he'll end up with 210 for the season. He's awful.

Thanks for talking me off the ledge. I didn't want to veer off into Meatball land too quickly.

I still think they suck though! :P

You guys on the ledge do realize that this team was 3 games under .500 on this date last year too, right?

Easy, he has the same amount of K's as the great Grady Sizemore.

Understood. However I get "panicky" when they start out almost mirroring the 2008 season. This team had alot of holes last year and supposedly they were fixed by KW in the offseason. The pitching has been terrible so far this year and the hitting is as non-existant as last year.
