Okay over the last 2 decades we've had quite a few shows in all genre that featured a man and a woman with chemistry and endured years of will they or won't they?

Do guys care about this? Most women I talk to who are fans of the shows do and most of the internet chatter is by women as well as the fanfic.

They have done this "flirting,no bangee" garbage for years on other shows,too.
You put a guy with any reasonably attractive female for long hours at a time,he is going to try to "hit it" as they say. It's human nature. Men are animals & I'm one of them!

not really , I watch 2 of the shows you mentioned and well 2 really good season enders.

As long as they can keep the chemistry alive the show will work unlike Moonlighting or even Friends, although I loved the seesaw with that show and I still hate Aniston to this day because of how Rachel played Ross for so long.

In the '90s, "The X Files" was as much as about Mulder & Scully trying to find aliens as it was the apparent chemistry between the two FBI agents. Unfortunately, fans never got to see Mulder & Scully really hook up beyond their professional lives.

the show jumps the shark as soon as the leads hook up. might was well just end the series there.

Bones is my favorite show in this category right now.

I kind of liked last weeks season finale. Of course all the speculation on the net is all about what everything means (personally the first scene was a flash forward, the middle a dream of an AU and the end a cliffhanger).

There's a rumor flying around that they've been renewed for 2 years (that part is a fact) and that's how long they'll go with it and at the end Booth and Brennan will be together but it won't happen until the last few episodes.

Of all these couples in the years I think the chemistry between Emily and David is the best.

You know Shamus (sic) is a dude's name, right?

The simple answer to your question is no. We do not like, enjoy, or appreciate the goofy "everyone must eventually screw or want to screw each other syndrome" (what I like to call the "Friends Effect"). It should disgust an average male viewer when they observe the main characters passing each other around like a hookah hose. To be sure, such sexual proclivity is distasteful to the more refined, sophisticated viewer. Some of us need more intelligent revue to be sure. However, one of the most important lessons I have learned comes from a show of a young black man, where they told us that the world do not move to the beat of just one drum, and what might be right for you might not be right for some, and that leads me to believe that there is a place for lowbrow, crude shows as that which you have mentioned.

Why have we chosen an avatar that makes us uncomfortable? Does this say about us? Did we select this avatar knowing that a certain side of ourself, me in this case, is distasteful to our general consciousness? Are we breaking down?
