Good point. Diane Viciedo-apparently she's not ready...when they said Viciedo might hit .300, I think the scout meant 300pounds! Gordon Beckham-perhaps they don't want to take the chance that he's not ready and ruin him, but that guy looked like the real deal in spring training. Plus he's hitting over .300 at AA ball-I do think he's going to be good. Fields-Hawk was all excited about his much improved defense, thanks to Joey Cora, but he is still a mediocre defensive player at 3rd and may challenge the single season strikeout mark, if allowed to play all season as the regular 3rd baseman. Lillibridge-he just sucks. Can't hit and tries to hit flyballs, like he's got power and just flies out as a result. Plus, last years "great youngsters" Alexi Ramirez, John Danks and Gavin Floyd, are all playing well below expectations. Besides Quentin, this team has little to be excited about. Thome and Dye will be gone after this season and they don't have enough decent outfielders as it it-they had to go get Pod's off the scrap heap...enough said. Now they are going to need a CF'er and a RF'er. Just back up the truck. They need to TRY to trade Dye, Jenks (and his not as fast-fastball) and get some young players they can build around. The one guy that is outperforming expectations, is Paul Konerko. They couldn't have traded him for a bag of baseballs in the offseason, unless they picked up half his salary, and he's hit really well.....so far.
