Cotts needs to go. i know he's a lefty, but a middle reliever can't be coming in with a 2.09 WHIP. That's crazy. The 7.36 ERA is crazy too, and that ERA as we know does not accurately reflect his futility as he has allowed a ton of inherited runners score too.
He's allowed 3 HR in 11 innings. Guy is a launchpad.
I just don't get how you sign a guy with his numbers to 1.1 MIL a year! I mean a career mid 4 ERA? Career 1.5 WHIP? And here's the stat of the day... 1 career save, 10 blown.
If this guy is in pinstrips June 1 I am shocked.
Who's with me?

Yeah well Scotty pods lead the league in hotness and he was fired (and rehired but fired nevertheless).

Before Frank calls me a homo, that was a play off that gawdawful commercial from 05.

I think since Hendry has been GM,the bullpen has been a concern.
It was great in '07,when Howry,Wood & Marmol were going strong.
Hendry either gets guys that are due to go south (LaTroy Hawkins),
not there yet ( David Weathers & Tom Gordon-pitched better after leaving the Cubs), or just plain SUCK: Cotts,Gregg & Heilman.

I'm with you! I know we hate to pick on coaches here, but what pitcher has Toss the Towel Larry made better??? Didn't the Cubs trade David Aardsma for Cotts, who is 1-1 with an ERA of 1.25 an 6 saves with the Mariners?

In Rothchild's defense, he did a helluva job with Marmol, Dempster. Prior couldn't be saved by Jesus himself, and Wood was good when he wasn't hurt. i don't blame that on LR.
The "talent" he's gotten to work with is the problem. Not LR.

Darkside....I think you got your Alou's mixed up. Prior was almost saved by MOISES
Alou in game 6 of the playoffs. JESUS was Moises uncle,I beleive. There was Felipe,Matty & Jesus Alou.

Yeah it doesnt matter if you are a lefty or not if you suck and can't throw strikes when you come into the game. I guess Cotts is out of options so the Cubs are worried about him clearing waivers but at that price tag wouldnt another team be doing the Cubs a favor if they actually picked him up?
