The first two Sundays in June probably work the best. 3rd Sunday is Father's Day and the last Sunday is Cubs-Sox, so those Sundays may be a problem.

So, is this event a no go or are we just going to try to get a couple
groups together?

this event is a go. I'll take two groups if that's what it amounts to for the first outing to get it off the ground. I'll also be after a few radio luminaries that I think will make it. It looks like it will be worth attending.

Has the date of the golf outing been finalized?

yes. Barring an unexpected change (read: everybody drops out)

Advice on directions from the north.... Yahoo maps has me
getting off 94 at Willow and zig zagging across. Does it make
sense for me to just go to 90 and take that up there? Don't
want to make it a longer trip than it needs to be.

From their site...they have plenty open starting at 2pm. I'm working on a better rate than $39 for 18 holes with cart. As of right now you have 8 confirmed but can add more last minute. The more that come the lower the price will be per person.

Directions to Fox Run Golf Links...or insert this address into your GPS  333 Plum Grove Rd. Elk Grove Village, IL
From North:
53 south to Higgins Rd., West (right) on Higgins Rd. to Plum Grove Rd, South (left) on Plum Grove Rd., approximately 2 miles to the entrance of the golf course on the left.

From South:
53 north to Biesterfield Rd., West (left) on Biesterfield (Biesterfield changes into Wise Rd.) to Plum Grove Rd., North (right) on Plum Grove Rd., approximately 1 mile to the entrance of the golf course on the right side of the street.

From East:
Higgings, or Golf Rd., West on Plum Grove Rd., South (left) on Plum Grove Rd. Entrance to the golf course on the left, just south of Weathersfield Way.

From West:
Schaumburg, or Higgings Rd., East to Plum Grove Rd., South (right) on Plum Grove Rd. Entrance to the golf course on the lest, just south of Weathersfield Way.

From Chicago via I-90:
I-90 west to Hwy 53, south on Hwy 53 to Higgins Rd., West (right) on Higgins Rd., to Plum Grove Rd, south (left) on Plum Grove Rd. Entrance is approximately 2 miles on the left.

From Chicago via I-290:
290 West, to Biesterfield Rd., West (left) on Biesterfield Rd. to Plum Grove Rd., North (right) on Plum Grove Rd. Entrance approximately 1 mile on the right.

My experience is that the WIllow/palatine Rd express is quicker to come across west than going all the way south to 90 and coming across that way.

i think you'd be better off heading west on Lake Cook Road to I-53.

Guys, it's a Sunday at 1:30pm in the afternoon. I don't think traffic will be the biggest issue of the day. This just in, I will be in attendance and try to bring as much GolfNow.com SHIT, I mean SWAG I can. Looking forward to my first CSFMB event.

Guys, thanks for the advice on the route. Forgot about contruction on
94 so I will take either Lake/Cook or Willow. It shouldn't be too tough.
I am definitely in barring unseen circumstances. I will try to scrape up
some prizes here at work. Maybe if we have a beer or two after the
round we can figure out who had the best shot or longest putt and
hand out whatever I can grab.

I think i might have a closest to the pin sign we can have the first group put on a hole and the last group pick it up.

there were 8 people who said they could go...of the 8, I know:

buryman
T-Bone
Doug-EP
City of Fools
Old Man River

who else is in?

I also say we do team scrambles, at least for 9 of the 18 holes...

I might have to do a little PM campaign. I think this is a worthy event, and I think it will draw more if I pub it up...

Won't be able to golf, but if there's something going on afterwards, I'm likely in.
