Should be interesting to see how this team plays against the Dodgers.

I like the way Wells pitches, he has been a nice surprise lately.

Manny who? Even though Manny Ramirez's currently serving a 50 game suspension for violating MLB's drug policy, the James Garner-looking Joe Torre and the Dodgers haven't skipped a single beat since #99 got busted. The national guys are here this weekend...Any idea what FOX Sports' Chris Rose, Ken Rosenthal, Joe Buck & Tim McCarver, not to mention ESPN's "Sunday Night Baseball" threesome will be talking about when their respective broadcasts hit the air?

No, it's TOTALLY different because there's a left hander on the mound.

Too many blown opportunities. failure by guys like Soriano to move runners when needed and hit a fly ball (Scales, with the bases loaded and just 1 out) when needed. Wells deserved a win with the way he pitched too.

They're minor leaguers...you guys are seriously going to get all up in arms over Scales and Fox striking out like that?

Oddly enough, I expected them to put the ball in play and give the team a chance.

randy wells is proving with every start that he should be the 5th starter for this team. even the runs he did give up today were on a bunt and a bloop single

So this stunning logic precludes expecting them to do their jobs? Inform the GMs around the league that minor league call ups are superfluous. Thus Spake Frank.

If Fox and Scales were really capable of driving in the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning, do you really think they would have almost a combined 20 years in the minor leagues? But, I'm the one thats dense

Go Cubs Go!

So far another day of wasted chances. 2nd and 3rd, no outs and they can't score. Then 2 on, with 2 outs and can't score. I have seen enough of Blanco, he can't hit. I like how we got Bradley to face the tough righty, but Lou sits him today. I know it is a day game after a night game, but this is the reason you got him. Plus, Hoff shouldn't be in the outfield anymore. I thought Lou said he was done doing that.

Sample size asshole. The sample size you're using is a mite small, dontcha think? But at least you've got the dense part right.

Man on 3rd, with no outs and we can't score. Fucking Lee hits a comebacker to the pitcher. Then Hoff hits a grounder to 1st, and same for Fontenot. Hoff is a fly ball hitter, but when you need one, he rolls over on a slider. Just horrible at bats by all 3.

My dear little simpleton, I meant the sample size you gave of the 9th inning. Their MLB ABs are a tad bit small to bitch about, but you go right ahead asshole. It gives your nubbin' no end of rubbin' to ridicule all things Cubs. Far be it from me to interfere with your predilections.

"If Fox and Scales were really capable of driving in the tying and winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning," This sample size dickhead. You derided their failure in one inning of one game. Using that myopic viewpoint, if they had come through, that would make Hendry GM of the year for hoarding such talent in reserve.
They are in the MLB, therefore, I expect them to do their jobs. Oddly enough, Jim Hendry does as well and other MLB GMs expect minor league call ups to hit when called upon. If they were smart though, they'd listen to you and just chuck it. Perhaps they'd just field a 18 man roster or so instead of calling up

Oh, I don't think Cubs victories annoy Frank. He's rather ambivalent about those. (insert 'because they're so infrequent 'joke here)
The Cubs losses though, ah that's sauce for Frank's Schadenfreude Soup.
