Terrible? It may be. Boring? No way.

Just keep the drunk meatballs on all they way until they start launching f-bombs.

Whether Ranger likes it or not, this steroid story is NOT going away in Bud Selig's Major League Baseball, Hatchetman.

I'm fully aware it isn't going anywhere and I heard the "crap". And I don't know what else to say except I find the steroid stuff now mind-numbing. I guess I wish I cared more than I do, but I don't. I want it clean, but I'm bored hearing about it. I understand the hypocrisy in that...which is why I even admitted to that on the air while I was discussing it.

i think you have to be at least 35 (probably 40) to really have a clear remembrance of the pre-steroids era. if you grew up loving 70s and early 80s ball, the modern game is decidedly dull. that's what pisses me off.

I don't completely disagree with that. I remember when hitting 20-25 HRs was actually a lot. It's really a byproduct of the highlight shows. You make the highlights by hitting bombs, not laying down a sac bunt.

i tend to think the increased HR's and scoring in general is due to steroids. note also now you have more BB's, more K's, less SBs. less balls in play. more pitching changes. yay! steroids.

I don't know. I was more into diapers than baseball at that point in my life, but was it that different. Guys like Ricky Henderson stole bases but also hit home runs...and don't forget the cocaine scandals.

Being around the team he didn't even know if Getz,Fields or Betemit fail(Which they all did)and
Beckham hitting half way decent would be called up before September. The Ranger doesn't
have a clue for someone reporting on the club everyday. He blamed the Sox playing poorly because of CQ, Rameriz, and Fields, and Denks,The pitching turns it around and the are back to playing respectable

At least "Denks" started turning it around. At what point, Walt, do you say to yourself, "I'm a complete f***ing moron and I should stop contributing"? Does that happen soon?

Isnt this the same Douche nozzle who said Beckham being called up had nothing to do with money, yet here he is, up on the big club AFTER June 1st?

What a fucking clown.

How did it have something to do with money? You know something the rest of us don't? The fact that you even think it had ANYTHING to do with money shows you have absolutely zero idea what you're talking about.

However, if you can explain yourself, I'm willing to listen.

everything comes down to money. they're asking him to give up something for nothing. that's not how the world works. especially when you have a high-powered attorney looking after your (and his) financial interests.

Huh? Is that an explanation?

This doesn't illustrate to me how the Peavy deal turned out to be about money.

there's the little matter of the $20mil option not being excercised. or maybe he wanted an extension. if money wasn't a factor, why did the sox NOT agree to pick up the option?

cuz the option is 4 years away and it makes no sense to agree to it now...

He wanted more than 4 more years?

the sox were all set to make the trade...Peavy turned it down...not the sox

because it's an OPTION...and Peavey didn't really want to come here anyway.

Hey Supermult, I noticed that you're not doing your Cup- or The Poofer- Final thoughts anymore. Ran out of material?

I'm not sure I'm the hopeless one here. Your explanation for the Peavy deal being all about money was, "everything is all about money". That doesn't make any sense, dude. And you can't honestly believe that somehow a trade involving a fixed amount of cash (meaning his salary wasn't going to change if he came here or stayed in SD), came down to finances. When a guy has a multi-year deal for a lot of money, you don't re-negotiate for more money in order to make a trade.

The failure of that trade to go through had absolutely nothing to do with money.

Are you a child? Jake Peavy just didn't want to play here for the White Sox. It's that simple.
