I mean, really, it was impressive to see you all today, looking so healthy. Not a basement-dwelling internet freak among you...no one looked jaundiced. I thought we made a damn handsome group.

I have read this board often. When I was in the wilderness of Los Angeles, I would peruse, and you would help me feel connected to my beloved Chicago. You kept me abreast of the good, the bad, and the hideous on the airwaves. You fed the rumor mill mercilessly, and entertainingly. I would sometimes look for my name, wondering if I'd left the consciousness completely.

Nice to know I haven't.

Big shout out to my man Good Dolphin, for inserting me into the occasional discourse. I bet it helped more than he knew.

Here's to years of interaction, beginning anew tomorrow.

That was my buddy Ray Quinn, owner of Martyrs', at 3855 n Lincoln Ave. Best rock club in the city, hands down, and home of my band Tributosaurus, on the first Wednesday of every month.

BigFan went to college with him, in a bizarre coincidence. They were sharing stories about some old mutual friend with a huge gambling problem.

Not being from Chicago, you may not know that your "patron"[*] gets 10% of your salary either as a "gift" in a chirstmas card or in ticket sales to a fundraiser.

[*] commonly known as chinaman, but that has gotten other hosts into trouble

"Call 866..4 Feldco" I can't help it pantalones. That song gets stuck in my head quite often, which means it was effective.

I am surprised BF knows someone with a gambling problem.

Sorry I wasn't at the ballpark...Hope you guys had a blast, despite the lack of offense by the White Sox. I know this much. With the "Naked Gun" music in the background as he was signing off the White Sox Radio Network postgame show, the Ranger did mention this message board along with Danny Mac yesterday afternoon.

Awful. The only acceptable way to mention this board is with the "Top Gun" music, the one that plays in the background during the sand volleyball scene.

Is that the song, "Playing with the Boys" by Kenny Loggins? That was the one scene that everybody would cite when arguing the notion that this was a movie for gay men.

I think you'll have to ask the Ranger what that music is playing in the background as he signs off. When I hear Ranger's closing music, I think of "The Naked Gun" or that short-lived 1982 TV series Leslie Nielsen starred in called "Police Squad!" which was yanked off ABC after only 6 episodes. I'll be very honest with you folks...Ranger mentioned this message board as he wrapped up the White Sox postgame show yesterday. Honest!
