Matt Spiegel to team with McNeil
Posted by Ed Sherman on Chicago Business

Matt Spiegel will be Dan McNeil's new partner when their new show debuts June 15 on WSCR-AM 670. The show will air from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Like Mr. McNeil, Mr. Spiegel also will be returning to WSCR. He was a producer, reporter, and host at the station during the 1990s.

Mr. Spiegel had been working as a host for Sporting News Radio.

For what I've heard Mr. Spiegel is a music buff. So is McNeil. Expect plenty of tune talk to go along with the sports talk.

Can't wait until they dedicate a segment to the best of "Bread."

did you intend to create the exact same thread in two different places?

YES, YEs, Yes, yes...I love Groundhog Day. It's worth posting twice.

Reminds me of a question: Do most people use the "view new posts" (or view your posts), or do you peruse the forum list?

Chris, I use the "view new posts" function, just makes it easier to read the most current stuff

That's what I figured. If most people did it would eliminate the need for double posting. If not, I could see why it was posted twice.

Before I signed up and was a CSFMB lurker the view new posts isn't an option.
When I first signed up I would still go from forum to forum but eventually I figured
out the View New Posts was up there. It is a nice tool, too bad the search function
isn't as useful.

If it's in two different sections I have no problem with it .There are some threads I've never stepped foot into on the board and I have missed some good post because of my lazyness.

Having said that I want to send a big congrats to Speigs and welcome him back home as I've gotten to know him a bit over the years with our FFL and if he and Mac can produce the laughs and one liners they throw out at the draft this show will be a appointment radio and I expect nothing less than that.

Welcome Matty.

View new posts is the main way I read this board...the only time I go into the specific sections is when I want to find something from a while ago...I guess that's why I never got the big deal about "wrong section"...

Have had the exact same experience with the board.

Many posts deserve 2 threads: in their intended Forum - and - either a Shoutout or a D-Bag as well. I never use new posts but I'll try it when Search is fixed.

I just tried View New Posts & I liked it. I also realized that you Cry Babies who whine "why'd you post it twice?" are not very bright if you can already see that it's posted twice & all you have to do is skip over it - Duh. Doh! Maybe I should post this in D-Bags too...

I never thought Speigel was any good. Its save to say this show will be a 2 season show, football and baseball. Maybe some golf here and there, but we know there won't be any basketball talk.

I've been wondering the same thing. Surprised nobody has posted or explained it because it should be an interesting story. Never heard anyone with that nickname before.

Boers coined it years ago (and correct me on this Matt if im off) but when Pants was a producer of the HFC show and Matt being a rather large guy back then, had torn his pants with a chunk of skin hanging out of the where the rip was and Boers say's "Christ all mighty, it looks like a piece of meat hanging out of you're pants and then it was born , "MEATPANTS"..That's how Mac told it anyway......

That's accurate, Slappy...spot on.

On the air though, I think I'll have a different answer every time it comes up, just for shits and giggles. Some options:

It's based on my years in the porn industry.

I had a pair of Zubas on which the print looked like bacon. Bacon-print Zubas.

I used to keep jerky in my back pocket.

Give me some more options at your leisure. I need 'em.

You had special pants that you wore in preparation to devour a gigantic plate of meat.

And now begins the line for the Macpants ALS.....count me first in line.

Can't wait 'til the 15th. Maybe I'll call in if I have a cogent thought.....OR NOT!
