A Cubs/Sox piece? Maybe 7-8 years ago it would have made sense but this interleague thing only works for the idiot fans out there who take this stuff way too seriously. True Cub/Sox fans know this interleague thing is a waste of time. Go back to playing only your own league during the regular season and return the World Series to being something special.

Yes, both parks will be filled with the idiot fans, but if you think that the Cubs beating the Sox or the Sox beating the Cubs will make your life any better you need a reality check.

This is right on target.

Proof of your post is the average ticket price for this media hyped Hooterville World Series is around $85.00 as per Stub Hub.

Can't wait for the media to act like complete cheerleading hyping fools for a dose of idiocy.

It's tough to right a TIMELY weekly column. It's always going to be more about observations and musings.

The Sox take it upon themselfs to stick to the season ticket holders during this series and charge almost double the face for this series alone. Scout seats go for $300 a piece and my seats are priced at $46 a seat where normally it's $26 .

I don't get caught up in the Cubs suck thing as I think it's so fucken stupid people take it to the extreme with the dumb t-shirts and the name calling and the over the top dumbasses that come out to the park for the 3 game set.

Give me a 3 game set with the Red Sox, Yankees, Twins , Tigers anyday . Cubs series , keep it .

I differ slightly from you Ed. I don't enjoy the crosstown banter, so I try to stay out of them when I can. There are plenty of other fans who pick up the slack.

But while the Cubs are my team, I follow the Sox very closely mostly because I think it is great we are lucky enough to have two teams. For that reason, I always seem to enjoy it when they lock up.

For the first time, I actually sold 4 tickets I had to the Cubs/Sox at the Cell. This series brings out every jerk-off on both sides of town. I'd much rather attend a Twins or Tigers game.
