Good thing Ozzie didn't get Thornton or Dotel in there after lee's home run.

Sox would have been out of the inning had Getz not made the error.

Maybe we will get lucky for once and this will generate some hits from these guys for once...

Matt Thornton minimizes the damage as they go to the 9th in a 5-5 tie.

If you were Keith Olbermann you'd be blaming Bush for the Cubs lack of hitting.

Does it mean that Kevin Gregg will be pitching? Other than that, what does it mean?

Darkside, that usually means Gregg blows the save...

Since it wasn't a save situation, how would that apply?

If they lose this it's on Ozzie. Linebrink obviously had nothing but he stuck with him despite having a very well rested bullpen.

Touche, Darkside... Gregg can still get the win if the Cubs score in the bottom 9th. My fault...

Not to mention he burned Thome with a runner in scoring position even though Thome hits lefties well.

 I turned the game off and went swimming with my daughters when the game was 5-1 and come back to surprisingly find out they came back and won! I should leave the games more often!

I wrote in my first post Floyd to Thornton to Jenks. I think that would have been a winning combination.

I'm sure we'll have to hear an "I make the lineup" speech from Ozzie when he is questioned.

Nice to see Cubs show some life, losing two in a row at home to a mediocre Sox team not acceptable.

Much better result today. I gotta say though, that they're lucky the Sox got all choked up and slippery fingered. That was a Cub-esque snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.

The Cubs have always hit Linebrink well.

You got that right...Who's the bigger goat for the Game 2 giveaway, RFDC? Is it rookie second baseman Chris Getz, who had 2 doubles at the plate, but committed the costly 8th inning error that started the 4-run bottom 8th? Is it Linebrink, who hasn't been pitching well out of the bullpen lately? Or do we point the finger at Ozzie himself?
