Not a bad show this morning....

Laurence and Doug did a nice job filling in.

I don't need any more weather updates though.

Speaking of Gridiron, Tyrus Thomas is John Thierry in basketball shorts. If I have to hear about his athleticism one more time, I'm gonna puke. CAN HE PLAY BASKETBALL?!?!? He won't have the benefit of Big Baby next to him, and I think he's a younger version of Tyson Chandler. I saw Tyrus on TV last night and all he could talk about was the amount of money he's guaranteed. That imho would be a 'red flag'.

Beef, you should have been listening to Colin Cowherd (who I've resorted to as the lesser of three evils in comparison to S&R and M&H in the mid-mornings). He had Chad Ford on today, who said the Bulls are split on Thomas and Aldridge. Then, in talking about Thomas, Ford said that he has that a word you don't want to hear, but also is a scrapper and will work hard, which is what Skiles wants. Then, he said he isn't soft like Tyson Chandler, who Ford referred to as "Charmin" - possibly one of the best rips I've heard in REALLY long time.

I still believe Paxson is letting info leak in order to induce a trade. I believe that even more with word that g@y is going to go #1. Of course the g@y rumor might be talk to induce charlotte to trade.

Laurence is dead on... I live for the NFL draft sometimes. If the Bears suck, I want them to REALLY suck, so they can draft higher. The NBA Draft lacks the luster of the NFL Draft.

It was nice to hear the morning show upgrade today. Baum and Olken is like eavesdropping at a VFW Hall bar. Baum has one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.

There's a rumor in the Southtown that the Bulls will draft Thomas.

Then package him with Chandler and Deng and ship them to Minnesota for Garnett.

I'm not so crazy about that idea. That's three solid contributors, or let me correct myself. That's a lottery pick rookie, a contributor and a salary gobbler for a guy that isn't getting any younger that will take up most of the Bulls salary for years to come.

Al Harrington, Joel Godzilla and Ben Wallace could be had without parting with anybody. The NBA is so screwed up to have free agency after the draft - but at least unlike the NFL they don't have rookie holdouts. I'd venture to say the Bulls will have both first rounders signed before the Bears have their first three picks signed.

Definitely possible but there’s no guarantee. The obnoxious sign & trade concept employed in the NBA may rear its ugly head. Hopefully not, but you can’t rule it out completely.

I hope Paxson doesn't draft Thomas and hope to package him in a deal. That is a huge risk to take. Why draft him anyway? He won't be able to really contribute until 2009 or 2010. This is a playoff team and the need players that can help today.

I'm with you Nas...The Bulls are a play-off team on the verge of becoming a contender. They should use this years picks to fill immediate needs (via trade or on a skilled rookie). They can then use next years picks (one of which should be a lottery pick) to take a gamble on a guy who can ride the pines while developing.

Regarding the Garnett rumor...I don't see it happening but I would certainly be for it. I'm a big believer in going for a championship as soon as the chance presents itself. We've all seen teams who were thought to be up & coming fizzle out due to injuries or chemistry issues (see '04-'06 Cubs or '06 Indians). Garnett is only 30 yrs old & is still a superstar (21pts/12reb/4ast in '06). The Bulls will be over the salary cap after this year with or without KG...I'd rather it be with him.

Well, the Bulls certainly got more athletic and improved defensively.
