Had the lucky pleasure of sitting one row behind the Yankee clipper at the 1969 college football allstar game at Soldier Field. Jets v. All Stars.

Different world then, Joe was signing autographs the whole game without requesting $. Was a true gentlemen to everyone.

I took a picture with him at the Itallian American Sports HOF on Taylor St. when he unveiled the statue. He signed an autograph for my wife's Grandmother. He still had a handshake that could crush rocks.
