Well, the first game sucked-at least the ending did. Looked great after Hoffpauir hit the 2 run Homer to put the ahead 4-3. But then Gregg and gives up a 2 run Homer to lose it. It was actually a pretty well pitched/played game by both teams. the double play the Cubs turned (I think it was the 6th inning) with theriot feeding Blanco, was outstanding. What a quick turn by Blanco. Hopefully, Harden can pitch a great game tonight. He has not been sharp of late and if they need him to return to form.

If Blanco could bat about .270 with a .350 OBP,at least the Cubs have themselves a slick fielding 2nd sacker.

You just knew Gregg was going to blow it when Brenly and Kasper were talking about how good he has been recently. He still has bad control and doesn't have good enough stuff to miss bats. As for Blanco am I crazy but wouldn't he be a better defensive option at SS than Theriot. Then you could move Theriot over to 2B where his arm and range would be less of a liability. Just a thought.

Gregg sucks, another game he lets get away. The Cubs staff has a tendency to give up homeruns to shitty guys.

Yeah, those announcers have that uncanny ability to change the outcome of a game.

Sounds a lot like Mark Derosa - oh wait, we traded him.

Oh god everything around here has to be so serious. I was more speaking to the fact that after so many outings you knew that Gregg was due for a bad one. Because he is bad at baseball. Its too Bernstein around here sometimes.

I like Gregg's excuse, the ball slipped out of my hand. No it didn't, the pitch before was bad also, and he just missed it. As for todays game, Fox is fucking slow, almost hit into a triple play.

Soto is one fat lazy fuck. No way should you get thrown out at 3rd on a groundball to the right side. He wasn't really running til the end, when he was dead.

Here's a surprise, Cubs have 1st and 2nd, no outs, and can't score. Then Harden comes out and gives up a home run.

6 hits, one run (solo shot) All runs (so far) scored by solo shots. Cubs offense still mired in the mud.
Film at eleven.

Gees, this is a difficult team to watch. After enjoyin the Hawks season, even the Bulls to some small extent....then having to watch this unachieving bunch of over paid clowns. Ugh...I've had enough of this team and this game. :x

Only five weeks till Bears training camp....... :D

Heilman sucks. Cubs bases loaded, no outs and score 1 again. This team needs a shakeup bad.

This bullpen sucks. Marmol comes in and walks his first 2 batters, with one bringing in a run. Then he decides to throw strikes and get the 3rd out.

Well the Cubs had 1st and 2nd, no outs in the 9th and couldn't score again. Horrible at bats by Bradley, Fox, and Fukudome. Fukudome did get screwed on strike 3, but Bradley was horrible. Fox needs to start pulling the ball with power. His warning track power to the opposite field is doing nothing. Another bad lose for this team.

Not much argument here. I had a lot more fun reading Redwall to my youngest than torturing myself with those last few innings.
11 hits and only 3 runs? Damn. You almost have to try to underperform that badly.

Unfortunately Soto's error that allowed 2 unearned runs to score, was the difference in this game. Otherwise, they probably bunt the guys over to 2nd and 3rd in the 9th, to get them in scoring position with just 1 out. But they needed 2 runs, not 1 to tie, so bunting made less sense. A lot of missed opportunities again. This Tiger bullpen is very good. A lot of power arms stocked up. The starters are pretty good too, if not outstanding. I have to favor these guys to win their division. The first 2 games went the wrong way, but they were good games. Gotta hope Lilly can salvage game 3. At least the Cardinals/Brewers lost again, so no ground was lost.

My favorite moment from last night......Bradley fails again with men in scoring position in the 9th and goes to break the bat over his knee .... and its a big bag of FAIL. I wouldnt be surprised if hes on the DL with some sort of thigh injury now. What a tool.

Cubs can't even knock off Detriot once to help out the Sox. Fuckers.

That was actually funny. Had to have been a humbling thing for Bradley. Maybe Zambrano can show him how to do it. I thought he was going to be on the DL after he failed to catch the ball in right and seemed to hurt his wrist. It might not have been bad if he had been pulled from the game at that point. Boy, he's a pretty lousy fielder.

No-Bradley SHOULD be a DH....Unfortunately, Lou had him out in RF, as he had given him the previous day off and wanted to get him back on the field, rather than just DH'ing him, which is probably what he should have done. The problem is, the Cubs have too many guys Fox, Hoffpauir and Bradley, who all should ideally be at DH.

1st and 2nd no outs..this feels familiar. Soft fly out and Strike Out. time for Fox to hit a grounder to short
