Thankfully it was Fontenot on 1st and not Fox. Or else it'd be 2nd and 3rd for Koyie to not drive in.

Why is it the one day we actually have some clutch hits and are putting runs on the board our best pitcher this year is throwing underhanded.

Awesome season.

I think it's time to move Bradley to center and put Fox in right and sit Fukodome.

I know it doesn't solve everything but it's at least a start.

Wow....Bradley in Center....why dont we just move Soriano to 2nd while we are at it so we could have the worst defense of all time.

Ooh we can move Micah to left then! An outfield of Hoff/Bradley/Fox sounds fearsome.

Fukodome in English translates to "I suck cock after June 1st".

Phil - look, I know it's not optimizing our outfield skills, but what the hell else can we do? Continue to play Bradley and Fukodome for defense? Bradley has 16 RBI for Christ's sake!

I'd be all for moving Fukodome to center and dealing with Bradley pouting on the bench, but I think offensively Bradley has a higher upside.

What do you suggest? Keep playing them as is??

Dave- At this point I think a move like that smacks of desperation and is akin to rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. You just hit on the biggest problem it is the end of June and our supposed clean up hitter has 16 RBI's with our best run producer on the DL. If Lou Pinella was still alive he would have benched Bradley's no hustle no hitting ass already. I don't care how much you are paying the guy keeping him out of the lineup gives the Cubs the best chance to win on any given day. And I am sorry but I think you are underestimating the Hindenberg level of disaster Bradley would be in center.

You are probably right but damnit if this isn't frustrating as hell. Maybe we will get lucky and Bradley will blow out a hamstring to force Lou to actually do something other than throwing his hands up and saying "what can I do?"

My question is would that outfield be worse definsively than the H-Rod/Sosa/Glenallen Hill outfield the Cubs used to trot out on rare occasions

Was listening to the radio last night when the Cubs had come back to tie it 2-2 I believe and Judd says, "Well Harden has looked pretty stellar tonight" or something to those words and I kid you not next pitch - GONE.

This is just they way the season is going.

Sorry GD - the Cubs suck.

At least you can take comfort in knowing that.

Wow what a bad series. The cubs can't get the bullpen the starters and the hitting together on the same day. Not really looking forward to this Sox series....

Bernstein calling baseball right now in this town an Opiate is perfect. I keep trying to stop caring about this team until at least the all star break, but I can't stop...

In 30 less at bats Hoffpauir has 6 more RBI than Milton Bradley.

He has 70 less AB's than Fukodome and has the same RBI.

Combined, Bradley and Fukodome have driven in 38 runs. Pujols alone has 70 RBI.

Pujols actually has 2 more RBI than Fukodome, Bradley and Soriano combined.

What is my point? The Cubs are getting NO production from their outfield whatsoever.

Well we get swept by a bad Tigers team, and we lost the makeup to a bad Braves team. Good job Cubs. The more I see Fontenot, the more I wish I could talk to Hendry and ask him what the fuck was he thinking. He's batting .225, he shouldn't even be in the majors right now.

Fontenot - exposed
Soto - high, fat and bad
Bradley - not as advertised
Theriot - meh
Lee - hitting like crazy to get back to median average
Fukodome - gawd awful
Soriano - keep waiting for 2 week surge - it will come in September after Cubs are long out.

This team is probably one of the most disappointing teams in recent memory for me.

Who makes the All Star team for the Cubs? Does Charlie Manual draw names from a hat???

GOD AWFUL, UNWATCHABLE LOSERS

i still seriously do not understand why anyone had high hopes for this team this year after seeing what hendry put together. it made no baseball sense at all, and i'm not shocked to see what's happening.
