Well, the Cubs just won game 1 of the series, with Harden going 7 strong innings to win game one over Zach Duke, who pitched pretty well. Nice to get back in the win collumn, even if it was against the Pirates. Lilly goes tomorrow and will look to rebound, after a poor outing in his last game vs the Tigers. He will be faced by Russ Ohlendorf. Virgil Vasquez faces Randy (2 wins in a row) Wells. Lets hope for a sweep, which would allow the Cubs to return to Wrigley, with a winning record.

By a Sux fan though, who only started the thred in an attempt to berate the Cubs and throw criticism at the team. I decided to cleanse the forum and give Cub fans a thread for and BY a true Cub fan.

You would be correct. If I wasn't, I wouldn't be spending so much time watching this crap.

He probably actually WATCHES infrequently, but comments on whatever negative information about the team/their games, he hears about on the radio or from highlights on TV.

There's not enough time in the day to follow everything negative about the Cubs.

Being the Cub fan that you are, you do a pretty good job of it. 8)

Truth be told, the vast majority of my Cub knowledge comes from listening to sportsradio.

This just goes back to those Sox fans who are obsessed with Cubs fans. With the recent cross town series we once again saw all the anti cub shirts and jerseys from all those obsessed sox fans. I think we can easily put Frank in this category.

I saw a guy with a brand new white sox road jersey....grey, sharp looking...and the name he had on the back was Bartman. Obsessed & retarded.

Did you notice the retard with the "L" shirt and goat mask on behind home plate on Saturday? He was making all these stupid hand gestures the whole game to. Someone from Fox really should have came down, gave him a tap on the shoulder, and told him "you look like a gay".

I did notice that. what a dumb ass. You could also hear him calling out to Soto when he was batting. He was yelling "Burn out". OK...maybe funny once or twice...but the third or 4th plate appearance and about the 30th time he said....Not so much.

So what you are in essence saying is, "I know you are but what am I?"

I'm saying before Cub fans call out the Sox fans for being "obsessed", they need to take a look at thier own fanbase.

My favorite moment in the long and storied history of the Cub fan vs. Sox fan wars
was seeing the Sox fans that were dancing at Clark and Addison after winning the World Series in 2005.
Game, set, match!

Classic moment #2 was when an Angel player commented during the '05 playoffs,
something to the tune of, 'There were so many posters around the park about the Cubs,
you'd have thought the Sox were playing them instead of us.'

Classic moment #1 was the presenting of the Commissioner's Trophy.

So what? It still happened. I couldn't care less if there are more Cubs fans than Sox fans. All that means is a fewer number of people got to see thier team celebrate a World Series title.

Wasn't the subject - Why Sox fans are so totally wrapped up in how the Cubs are doing rather than worrying about their own team?
Stay on task, Pee Wee.

Again, I point you back to my original post in this thread. A cub fan who started a thread in the Sox forum about a losing streak.

Cubs fans are just as obssesed, douchebag.

Classic moment #1A - if your team builds a brand new stadium, and no one goes to it, then make some classic and original renovations to it. You know, completely unique, in no way associated or similar to any other stadium in the same city. Especially a team your organization and fan base is obsessed with. Your own personal renovations, like:

-dark green seats
-greenery (including ivy) along the outfield walls
-bricks around the stadium
-a smaller upper deck with a lower roof including poles that obstruct seats.

Oh, now we're back to the Attendance Championship. Yippi

I guess Coors Field, Camden Yards, Safeco Field, Busch Stadium, Great American Ballpark, PNC, etc etc etc should get rid of their green batter's eye and/or brick facades.
