Sorry Stink, your (wet) dream is dead for now.

What I don't get is, the Flames are in the worst possible cap position in the league - even worse than the Hawks if you can believe it - how the hell do they pull this off? I believe they gave up Leopold and a non-1st rd draft pick. Leopold is an absolute clown on the ice.....he looked terrible in the playoffs.

it looks like they are going to let Cammalleri walk, that's probably the only way they can sign bouwmeester... even though they probably need more offense than defense at this point.

So, I assume Camalleri will come cheaper than Havlat for whoever signs them - am I crazy to want Camalleri as an alternative to Havlat?

no, I had the same thought earlier this offseason, but I doubt that the hawks would go after any free agent if they can't resign havlat, unless it's a one year deal...

no, not if you enjoy gap-toothed babyfuckers. If you enjoy those type of people, then by all means, enjoy this trade. :D

If there were ever a player born to play for the Flyers, it's Chris Pronger.

I didn't think that the flames would pull it off but they were able to do it...

http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=4298436

Scratch the highest-profile defenseman off Wednesday's free-agent list.

Jay Bouwmeester agreed to terms on a five-year deal with the Calgary Flames on Tuesday night, forgoing unrestricted free agency.

The Flames took a gamble Saturday at the NHL entry draft and sent a third-round pick and the rights to Jordan Leopold to the Florida Panthers in exchange for the rights to Bouwmeester.

Bouwmeester, a native of Edmonton, completed his sixth season with the Panthers in 2008-09, recording 42 points with 15 goals and 27 assists.

The six-foot-four, 213-pounder has 203 points in 471 career NHL games. He was picked with the third overall draft pick by the Florida Panthers in 2002.

ESPN.com's Pierre LeBrun and the Associated Press contributed to this report.
