After the top of the 7th, Lou should have sat Fox and Soto for there mental mistakes. Fox for not running out a pop up, and Soto for making the 3rd out at 3rd on a really stupid baserunning error, while trailing by 2. This is going to go down as the worst loss of the season. Getting shutout by a minor leaguer who had never struck out more than 5, and who has 8 tonight. For all the talk of Fox and Hoff being everyday players, they are a combined 0-6 tonight, while batting back to back. Just a horrible effort tonight, by a group of over paid cry babies.

Mr. Redass, I sure wish you were the Cubs manager, so that the team would do everything right and probably be looking at about a minimum 8 peat.

Fukudome has just missed played his 2nd ball in the last 4 games out in center, costing us another run. Down 3-0, heading to the 8th. You should never lose to the Pirates, especially with the type of payroll we have.

This team has horrible baseball smarts. You never make the 3rd out at 3rd, especially when your trailing. The way the Pirates scored their 1st run should never happen. You can't let a guy score from 2nd on a wild pitch. Lou has to kick someone in the ass, but he seems to be out of it.

Fucking Soriano missing hanging beaking balls, you have to hit a grounder and he couldn't. Lou should of stuck to his guns and given him the day off, but he let him talk him out of it. Fukudome takes strike 3 looking. Should send his ass back to Japan. D-Lee doesn't do shit. 2nd and 3rd, no outs, and you can't get a grounder from 2 guys who are making 180 million plus, what a fucking joke.

Solid 0-8 from Hoff and Fox. That should end any nonsense about these 2 being any good.

The Pirate pitcher (Ohlendorf) should get some credit. He is the guy the Yankees traded to get Damaso Marte and Xavier Nady. He isn't overpowering, but he hits the corners and looks pretty good.

btw, what does four hours after the fact have to do with the price of tea in China? Ever heard of work?

Absolutely not. A lay down/brain cramp kind of game that really makes you shake your head.

Go whine about the Cub getting shutout by the lowly Pirates, and I'll watch my team continue to improve.

Come on, Frankie! Admit it. How much of the Cub game did you watch tonight?
I'm sure it's more entertaining for you to watch the Cubs get shut out by the Pirates than it is to watch your team continue to improve.

This game was emblematic of how much these fucking guys blow. Once again, getting shut-down by a guy who couldn't bust a grape. Over a $110 million or more for this steaming pile of pigshit?
Hendry is a boob that had a big checkbook, Lou has packed it in and retired midseason, just like he did in Tampa.
This team is in need of some serious changes. Unfortunately, with the current state of the sale and the horrible contracts handed out by "The Fleshy Boob", I see no improvements for the remainder of this season and possibly for the next few.
Why does everything associated with this fucking team have to be a goddamn circus? I'm gettin' too old for this shit.

Where do you improve this team seeing that we have so many contracts that cannot be moved?
Starting pitching is fine. Need another lefty in the pen and a righty or two.
1B, 3B and C are solid.
Every other position could be upgraded, but you can't move the guys playing those positions.
Getting a SS and moving Theriot to 2nd is about all you can do to improve.
On top of all else, this is the most lethargic team I have seen in a long time on the North Side.
This season is killing me.

You're right so doesn't that mean the only splash move we could see this summer is Lou retiring or being fired? That's the only thing I can really see them doing and Lou isn't very interested any more so maybe that's what will happen. They have very little to trade and no money to take on a big name. They're really in a bad spot right now. Sucks.

Bingo, Mr. Reason.

The only way this gets fixed is if the new owner agrees to trades a la the Sosa trade, where the Cubs will send a boatload of money along with each player. The Soraino signing alone has torpedoed this team.

Yet there are still Cub fans who think Hendry has done a good job because they have won back to back division titles.

This team is the "waterboarding" of MLB.
