I think that was Heilmans best inning as a Cub.

Get to see the debut of the latest great pickup by Hendry, Baker. I'm guessing strikeout.

Well not a strikeout, but nothing good. He fits in perfect with this group.

Lou was right when he called Bradley a piece of shit. He his worthless. If its that hard to see a fly ball in the sun, he shouldn't be out there past the 6th inning during a day game. There is no excuse when your wearing sunglasses, this is unexceptable.

Looks like a bad call by the homeplate ump on a hit batter. He has had a bad game, inconsistant strike zone and handing out warnings way to early.

I don't see this ending well. We are about to witness a new way to lose. Milty losing (another) ball in the sun, then a HBP that never touched the batter to bring up Braun and Fielder.....

Hopefully we can score one here in the 10th. Fuld smoked one in the 9th, but a nice leaping grab and bad baserunning ended that inning.

Well a nice 0 for 5 game for Soriano, with nothing being hit hard. Must be nice to be the highest paid automatic out in baseball.

Strange move by Macha walking Bradley. If I was the Brewers I would rather pitch to Bradley.

Oh man, Bill Schroeder is Hawk Harrelson North. That was a ball, pipe down.

Nah, just some mustachioed dude with a big cranium and a speech impediment. Another catcher-turned-broadcaster who jokes about what a terrible average he had (Uecker, Brenly, et al).

I wish I could've heard the game at work today. No luck with that, but getting in the car to hear the winning walk was damned nice! They don't have style points in the W column. It's a bad Cubs team out there that is staying close. I'll take it. I'm not confident at all, but I'll take it.
Errors in the game and no Z meltdown? Hmmm... gotta read up on the game and box scores to see if Z blew up, punched somebody, cursed a grandmother.... 8)

Time to turn our attention to Geneva tonight, and see how Ramirez and Johnson do, but mainly Ramirez.

Thankfully the Cubs are at their best when their fans are at their whiniest and most defeatest. Take some Xanax or something and save it for the playoffs when they deserve it.

What have they done to impress you of late? Not much, I'd wager. Besides, if your theory were true, the Cubs would have more titles than the Yankees.

Nothing, they play like a .500 team and people act like we're witnessing Washington Nationals quality baseball. There's a team you should be negative about. I must be some kind of weird Cubs fan as I don't enjoy constantly thinking they're never going to win.

I know they're going to win a WS. 2003, 2004, the last two years... I had very high hopes indeed. I'm just not all that confident about this bunch and I said as much before the season started. Bradley is disinterested. Soriano is hurt. ARam's injury and DeRosa's trade were disasters. Soto having terminal munchies and DLee's slow start made for some seriously tempered enthusiasm.
That said, all they have to do is get in the post season. They're in the thick of the race in a wretched division. Then, and Lord knows we've seen this already, anything can happen.

Some might bitch about the close call (Brewers fans or Sox fans that hate the Cubs mostly) on ball 4 to Fox, but the call on ball 4 to Corey Hart was just as questionable, if not more so. Fox did a great job of fouling off tough pitches to stay alive, before drawing the walk there. I sure hope they keep him on the roster, even after Aramis Ramirez and Reed Johnson are back. Send that worthless Aaron Miles packing for good too. I guess they could send Andres Blanco down, though again, he's better than Miles. David Patton should be offered back to Colorado, to make proper use of that roster spot too.

Also, if you lose a 2-1 game on a bases loaded walk after all the opportunities you had to score runs (that Gregg inning, yeesh), maybe the umpire isn't where you point the finger.

man, i have no sympathy for brewers fans. you guys come out of the woodwork all of the sudden to care about this team? wrigley north indeed. enjoy your brats and your northwoods beer and shut the eff up.

bradley is a prick and always will be. this team is not anything more than a slightly above .500 summer team with no october future. if you want to enjoy that, it's your right as a fan.

i still think ES is just half-believing what he's writing. but he is on par with some of his thoughts.

Off to a shitty start today, Harden giving up 5 in the first. This guy has been the weak link in the rotation so far, very inconsistant.

Soriano comes up with the bases loaded in the first and grounds out. He is now 0 for 6 since his 2 game benching. Glad to see it motivated him. Also, Lee has to score on the single by Fox. He was acting like there was one out, he wasn't even running hard.

It's the 2nd inning and its 6-0 Harden blows, but blame Soriano & D.Lee. Gotta get to Brewers pen.
