AWESOME...great reporting.

I find it very hard to believe that anybody can be this optimistic about a team like the silly Reds. I mean, I'm a meatball, but christ NSJ, you are taking the term meatball to unprecedented levels. Its embarassing really.

Please edify me, Frank. Why are the Reds silly? Have I been overly optimistic? I don't believe I predicted an NL or WS pennant.

Please tell me what I've done here which is "unprecedented".

I've never had an issue with Frank. I like what he brings to the board. He produces some one liners that have me laughing out loud.

I just don't know what I've done that makes me a meatball or would be labeled "unprecedented". The Reds being silly also has me

Oh he's right. The Reds are silly. They should change their names to the Cincinnati SillyBottoms.

This reminds me of a Frank Rizzo Jerky Boy skit:

Sillie's Pizza: Sillies, how can I help you?
Frank Rizzo: Just what is so fuckin silly about your pizza.
SP: We roll it up into a ball and...
FR: You roll pizza into a ball? Well I guess that's pretty fuckin silly.

Well, NSJ, the Cubs took 2 of 3 and the Reds look even worse than the Cubs do. I mean seriously, how did they lose two games even though the Cubs coulnd't hit or field the damn ball? That might be the two sloppiest wins I've seen, shitty offense and terrible defense.

Both looked awful. Just wait until they both get their horses back.

Wells and Maloney impressed.

The Reds have a similar situation to the Cubs at 3B. Hairston is brutal there.

With that changeup I can see Maloney being an effective reliever down the road if the starting thing doesnt pan out. A lefty who can throw strikes and has an out pitch is a valuable commodity.

All right boys, Cincy and STL is tied with the Cubs and just 2.5 games behnd the Brew, who IMHO just don't have it to maintain a lead for the year. So, what do you think will happen here? I think that Cincy has been playing above their skill level so far this year, and the Cubs below it. I think the Cubs hitting and (god willing a bullpen change) the bullpen will come around. Stl is going to be 500 or better the rest of the season. I still see it ending up 1. Cubs 2. Stl 3. Brew, 4. Cin

I don't expect A-ram to be effective until late August, if at all.

And the Sox do exactly what they should against the Minor League Reds- take at least 2 of 3.

This team just kills me. Im following today's game because I have Harrang on my fantasy team. The Big Red machine just had bases loaded, and nobody out, and failed to score. Did Cincy hire Gerald Perry when he was let go from the Cubs? It is a travesty that they are ahead of the Cubs in the standings.

Well, Cueto gave up 9 in the first. Well done. Check out this line score...

0.2 IP, 5H, 9ER, 3BB.

Yeah. You bet. I certainly want to see teams that were ahead of the Cubs fall behind the Cubs. goes with being a Cubs fan, that weird, strange, inexplicable desire to win the division. I know it's bizarre to want to be the first place team.
once again, there can be only 1. And I REALLY don't think the Reds have the balls to be the last team standing.

So you let you're "weird, strange inexplicable desire to win the division" do away with any wild card considerations?

You've made it clear that Reds suck and Dusty can't produce a winner in Cincinnati. If that's true, why wouldn't you want them to beat the Phillies, a potential Cub competitor for the wildcard if the Cubs don't win the divsion?
