If you go to whitesox.com, go to the active roster and click on Podsednik, you will see his stats sheet. In the lower part of the page there are 2 small photos with captions below them. one states that Podsednik was claimed off waivers on Friday, by the Chicago Cubs. I guess Kenny wants to gague interest in players he might deal and now he has to decide whether to deal Pods to the Cubs, or pull his name back off waivers. Interesting....I guess if kenny is putting guys like Pods out there (He can't be the only one) he must have decided to look to the future. Perhaps Soriano's left knee is worse than reported and needs surgery and Hendry wants Pods to take over in LF and bat leadoff for the North side.

you posted this already. Unless Quentin is ready to be activated, Pods is not going anywhere.

This is a story from 2007. The Cubs had a little interest in Pods when Soriano went down.

I literally laughed out loud when I read this sentence.

"The deal is far from done. Players are claimed on a regular basis with little fanfare, but the prospect of Podsednik joining the Cubs has generated some buzz around Chicago."

Yes, players are commonly exposed to waivers, particularly at the end of June/beginning of July to assist GM's in determining the interest other teams might have in players they don't plan on having long term in their organization. I'm sure if kenny is not offered something decent, he will just pull Pods back. But what if they offered Jake Fox-who could take over at DH, as Thome is in the final year of his deal?

After someone texted them that the waiver claim was from 2007 . The Sux have a photo with a caption on the whitesox website that reads "Podsednik claimed friday off waivers by Chicago Cubs". There is no reason NOT to believe it isn't current. The producers even double checked the website to verify before I was on the air. Then Bernstein said he thought it was a great catch on my part and he liked my angle about what it might mean where Soriano's knee was concerned. If they were smart, they would have let the thing go on. It might have generated a buzz and gotten the show going. Then, they could always blame the site's failure to update their information, when it came out that the whole thing was a story from 2007. As it was, the show today was very pedestrian. It could have used some stirring up.

You should stir it up by making an ass of yourself more often.
