I used to enjoy his segments on the old HFC—and he was just as smarmy back then, but entertainingly so. That was a long, long time ago. Good for him that he's rediscovering his love for sports now that he's banked a ton of cash. Oh, did covering sports become like work to him? That's a shame.

Mac, if you're reading this, believe me, I can understand manic depression and crippling mood disorders. And maybe I should have more empathy. Does his pathology really go that far? Has Patrick changed over the years?

I thought they did a good job with the interview. I hate Dan Patrick and they almost made him palatable.

I don't listen to Dan Patrick when he's scheduled to be on the air. I sure as hell don't need to hear him on M&H, and then Mac & Meat. Just because his pompous ass is in the building, doesn't mean you have to put him on the air.

It so happens that D.P. was in Chicago to take part in a NASCAR challenge at Soldier Field earlier today with fellow SCORE host Dan Hampton & three drivers of the Penske Racing team, Kurt Busch's #2 Miller Lite, Sam Hornish, Jr.'s #77 Mobil 1, and David Stremme's #12 Verizon Dodge. Additionally, D.P. was giving away tickets to tomorrow night's LifeLock.com 400 Sprint Cup race if you joined "Dan Nation" on his Web site, plus he's supposed to be in Joliet. I wonder if he's giving the command to start engines...
