Out of 5 stars I give it 2.Sometimes tough to follow and periods of little or no dialouge. The Chicago connection is good, to see graft and police corruption haven't change in some 75 years. Something to do on a rainy day.

Michael Mann movies look authentic, but the dialogue seems dry and withered
like an Indiana farm in draught season. I still enjoyed it,much better then "Miami
Vice" a few years back. One question: How do you screw up "The Lady in Red"??
Also, they should have ended it with a ? mark. As there was doubt it WAS Dillenger
who was at the Biograph that night.
I give it 3 stars out of 5. ( I allow for 5 stars)
Also, the gray-haired guy who assists Purvis in the movie is an actor I recognize from the excellent show "Crime Story" from a few years back. He was good in a small role.

I saw it this morning and would give it 3 stars. Like a lot of critics, I felt the story had too many holes in it, was a little choppy. The performances were good and I thought it was well shot.

kinda disappointing to hear but at the same time, not surprising, mann has never been a man of flawless scripts. he cares more about the action than the character aspect. always has been that way. it worked to perfection in "last of the mohicans" because he had such a great script to work with, but in things like "manhunter" and "heat", left something to be desired...still he knows what he's doing.

My father & I saw the latest Johnny Depp movie yesterday in Rosemont and we both enjoyed it. I think director Michael Mann did a really good job making this movie look as close to authentic as possible for 1933. The cars, the guns, the violence, the Biograph Theatre, etc. Very, very good. Two thumbs up!

Would the porn satire for this movie be "Public Enemas" or "Private Enemies"?

Speaking of pornos, Dillinger gives new meaning to the slang term for deceased:

A STIFF! Easier to see version: http://www.cvtreasures.com/popup_image/pID/1556.jpg

The movie was alright, but no great shakes

I was glad to see Russell Hammond kept his giant swaying blue cock in his trousers.

It was the Phillies, and they lost 6-5, to push their record to 54-35-1.

Anybody would know that.

I'm waiting for a review that details the movie for what it really is: a recalling of the beginning of federal government's war on its citizens that is still alive and well to this day.

This just came out on video and I watched it this weekend. I enjoyed it for the action
scenes and the fact that most of it took place in the Midwest. There is a bank not from
from where I live here in WI that was robbed by Dillinger. I realize it wasn't historically
accurate but I have to say that it was entertaining. The only gripe I really had was that
I thought it was maybe a little longer than it needed to be. The gun fight and chase scene
through the Wisconsin woods was a highlight for me.

Saw this last summer. I thought the script was vapid of any charectar development but an OK story. It was fine to see once.

i find myself saying this more and more when i go to the movies.

i didn't even have to look up how long "avatar" would be to know it'd clock in at over 2 and a half hours.

and guess what? it's 161 minutes.

now...cameron usually knows what to do with 161 minutes. it's when you see running times like that for shit like "pirates of the caribbean" and "transformers" that makes me want to throw up.

i'm almost positive "sherlock holmes" will be between 145-160 minutes long.

Yeah, I just looked and Public Enemies was 143 minutes. Sherlock Holmes appears to be 134.

Watched it last night. Now it's over. It wasn't bad, wasn't good, just kind of watched it.
