If you believe in that kind of thing:

Packers WR says Bears 'don't have the receiver group'

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Donald Driver gave a candid assessment of the Bears' receivers during an interview with NFL Sirius Radio, per Bob Wolfley of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

"I think Chicago did a great job, and Lovie Smith went out there and got Jay Cutler to lead this team, but one thing they don't have is they don't have the receiver group," Driver said. "They have the running back, they have the offensive line and they have a great defense.

"But you're going to have to need receivers to make plays down the field, and they don't have that right now."

Yes, Donald. Lovie Smith single-handedly went out and got Cutler to lead this team.

He's right. But we have time to land a WR. Couldn't splash money around on crappy older talents that were available. Ex. Moose!

How much of the WR's in Denver were good because of Cutler?

Until ppl see how Cutler interacts with these guys, I wouldnt be jumping to conclusions. Those guys in Denver were good, but they also had Cutler getting them the ball.

If I thought Hester could read the bulletin board this might be a big deal. How many years has he been working on the playbook now?

He was just on Waddle and Silvy and said the same thing. I don't disagree.

I have a feeling that cutler is going to like calling audibles since he is a franchise quarterback that seemingly should be able to read a defense and audible when he wants. If hester can't figure out a straight up play, then I really don't want to see what he does when cutler starts changing things at the line.

He also won't have Muhammed out there to point Devin in the right direction and make changes on the line of scrimmage.

Does it matter what audible Cutler calls when the only pattern Hester needs to run is endzone fly?

It seems like Angelo is thinking the Bears are fine with this group.
Same guy who thought Chad Hutchinsen & John Quinn were fine, too.
Can't expect Cutler to make EVERY WR better. It would be nice if a
couple of them could make him better.

Hey can Marcus Robinson still play? :drunken:

They are going to be fine. The wrs aren't much different from last year. They were bad but still won 9 games, Cutler will help too. Our RBs are solid and I expect the TEs to produce.

Driver is pissy because his team has no defense. Maybe he'll get to rework his contract this year.

Exactly right.

Why not take a chance on Harrison? Maybe he's got a year left in him.

I dont see how it is bulletin board material. Like Nas said, truth hurts. And no, Driver does not want to play for the pathetic franchise that is the Chicago Bears

He's already playing for the best one in the division, probably the NFC.

You forgot to add the wink indicating that youre joking. Cuz thats a joke
Best in the division...you could argue...you'd be wrong...but you could argue that. Best in the NFC you can not.

But I would like to hear the Aaron Rodgers is better than Drew Brees argument.

How many yards do you think Rashied Davis is going to punish the Packers for because of this?

There's no question in my mind he's better than Cutler. As for the NFC, Im pretty convinced by the end of this season a serious argument could be made. Sure Kurt Warner and Drew Brees had slightly better ratings, but it was his first year starting and he was facing more pressure and scrutiny then any player I can remember recently. He will be an elite QB.

Rodgers is a second tier NFL QB right now. That's really good but he has a ways to go before he's with Manning, Brady, Brees, and probably Warner.

Yeah thats fine, but they were only slightly better in those categories, and Rodgers had less interceptions. There's a reason Rodgers QB rating was only like 3 points lower. That means relying on that indicator, they were only marginally better than him. And thats considering it was his first ever full season and he had enormous pressure on him. I didnt think he'd do as well as he did, but Im sure you guys remember I thought he was going to be a good QB. Now I have higher expectations and I think he'll continue to improve.
