They Suck! and NOTHING that happened in this series should be taken as any sign. This should be treated liked a 10 run blowout. Throw away the tape and move on like it never happened. Next series v Philly, that will mean something!

Uh-oh. You said something bad about a cub opponent. The sensitivity police will be coming to get you!

Agree, the pitching was kind of bad against a bad team. Zambrano over 100 pitches in 5 innings, Wells was bad, and Hart can't throw strikes, but lucks out with lots of runs, thanks to bad Nationals defense.

The only way you take anything big from this series is if they'd split or lost the series. I don't agree that nothing can be taken away from the series, but it's true that you take it with a grain of salt... the size of a salt lick.
The Philly series will indeed be a more important series in terms of determining where the Cubs are right now. They take 2 of three in Philly, and I will be pleasantly surprised. I expect they'll only get one win. That should cheer up the meatball morons...

I will take a sweep like this. I remember back in the day when the cubs would go to montreal and get their asses handed to them even when the expos sucked.

4 game sweep on the road against anyone is impressive.

Impressive? Really? The Nats are going to lose 110+ games. Cubs should have at least taken 3 of 4. They took care of business against a shitty team, nothing more. "Impressive" my foot.

I'm with Jason. The Nationals don't lose every game (contrary to popular belief). Winning 4 in a row away from home is a good thing in my eyes.

I also think that despite the team you just played, winning 4 in a row going into a series with the defending World Series champs is also a good thing.

<Santo> ALLRIGHT! <Santo>
Now there's the Frank we know and love. Disparaging anything the Cubs accomplish and giving no credit for a job well done.
It's one thing if Cubs fans discount the accomplishment, but coming from a meathead, I mean meatball fan such as yourself, it's sour grapes. Go peddle your shit in the Sox section.

It was a job "done", and nothing more. If your pea brain needs further clarification on the matter, re-read the very first post in this thread, started by a Cubs fan.

If you can't discern fact from opinion, you're more bereft of sense than I thought. BF stated his opinion. You've stated yours. I've made my points about both. You should be able to understand that... I would think. But then again, that's just my opinion.

Based on tonight, you win Frank. I give up to your awesome intellect, opinions and prognostication skills. You're a genius, and I humbly beseech you to teach me your wisdom and insight. Based on one game, one road game, I surrender to your omniscient power.

Or, I could still think you're a partisan, meatheaded idiot.

You choose.

Hope I wasn't too subtle for you.

Says the man who said that a sweep of the 64 loss Nationals was a "job well done."

I'll be very subtle too: People in glass houses..

They "should have taken at least 3" according to you, but they took 4 instead. So they did more than "job done," since by your very own definition, "job done" = 3 wins.

As bigfan eloquently stated in the start of this thread, the Cubs took care of business against the worst team in the league. Nothing more.

Reality has set in in Philadelphia.

Goddam, but you're stupid and stubborn. You'd sooner eat glass than be corrected and say something positive about the Cubs.
Go ahead and ask how easy it is to sweep a four game series in the Majors. Take a survey. Put up a poll. If you're being at all honest, you'll have to agree that it is no easy task regardless of the opponent. I don't have the numbers in front of me, nor the inclination to look them up. However, I feel quite confident that a four game sweep on the road is a job well done. Period.
Because BF said it, it must be true? So when Walt or a host of others disagree with you, they must be right? Same logic, equally flawed. Jesus, but you're a piece of work.
Finally, there's this little caveat. BF can say what he wants. It's his opinion. I'll cut him slack as he's a Cubs fan as well. You, on the other hand, take delight and glee in Cubs misfortunes. Anything you say about the Cubs as a result is pretty much tainted and flawed as a result.
You also implied that I'm a meatball fan.
Fuck you.
I've said a number of complimentary and positive things about the Sox. You're physically incapable of it. <insert "I'm positive the Cubs will suck" statement here Frank> So, if you expect to be greeted with "Gosh, you're right Frank" upon being a pissy little shit in the Cubs forum, you're delusional. Using BF's original post as a foil against criticism is disingenuous, yet it hasn't stopped you yet. Predictable.
Rub one out to your Bartman poster and fuck off.
You're entertaining Frank, but if you think you're right, you're nuttier than squirrel shit. <Now, here's the part where you quote the last sentence and put whatever version of 'I know you are, but what am I?' in your response.>

Once again, against the Nats, its a job done. The following teams have swept the Nats this year: Rockies, Cubs, Reds, Marlins (3 times!), Rays, Mets, Phillies (twice), and Braves.

But I'm stubborn, and I'm stupid.

I'm going to move in and ignore the rest of that dumbfuck response, and just leave you with the thought that this past weekend was the 11th time this season that the Nats have been swept.

Four
Game
Series
On
The
Road

How many of those sweeps were four game series on the road?

I'll hang up and listen to my answer.

Frank - from what I can tell:

The Rockies swept them at home. I didn't find the Reds sweep. The Marlins swept them twice at home, once on the road. The Rays swept them at home, The Mets swept them at home, the Braves swept them at home and the Braves swept them once at home and once on the road.

Not saying it was a tremendous victory for them, but sweeping a 4 game series on the road is a good thing. Only the Phils have swept them in a 4 game series on the road (and 2 of the games were part of a double header). That's good company.

That's all I'm saying. It's a job well done. Nothing tremendous or earth shattering. Frank would sooner shit purple kittens than say something positive about the Cubs and, if he insists on stomping about over here, I'll amuse myself by tweaking him.
