He may not have 800K to pay the casinos, but he did have a couple of bucks for some drinks at Citizen with me yesterday night. By with me I mean in the same bar. Busted his balls about Ignatius owning Carmel. He got a good laugh.

Great story......we play Gordon in our place....Versace is the coach of the grease....They have a super hoops team.....Played Sweet Georgia Brown blaring in our gym during their dunkathon pre game.....WE ACTUALLY WERE BEATING THIS TEAM...they had Dolan, Franco, Learthur Scott, Rich Vallot, Marshall Hill and Rich Campbell who played for Marquette......
Time out in 4th Quarter...gym silent.....we can't believe we are up 15.....
Versace in his Nehru jacket with the gold chains flapping gets his team together.....
Right behind them is this jackass from St. Tars.....'Kusta"...probably the GT Valedictorian..black leather coat..greased back blonde hair.....jumps up....FLIPS OFF OUR WHOLE CROWD AND SCREAMS AT THE TOP OF HIS LUNGS: "FUCK YOU CAKE EATERS"!!!!!!
Place goes up for grabs!

It was simply classic!!!!!!

What/where is Citizen? Never heard of it before, but I am exceptionally unhip when it comes to bars where likes of NBA players (or playas) like to hang out.

Every time you mention this affiliation I chuckle at your board moniker (despite the fact that I know its origin) that sounds like you're a Whitney Young guy.

Erie west of Franklin on the North side of the street.

It was a nice place especially for a drink during the summer because of outdoor decks both to the side and on the roof. It was definitely not an NBA playas type of bar. Many hot women, but most of them seemed permanently spoken for.

I think it is cool that Iggy has brought back football, but where in the hell are they drawing players from?
How can they compete for South Side players with Carmel, Rita, Rice and even Marist?
I remember when St. Laurence was a powerhouse...short lived.
Gordon was a great team, too, once upon a time.
Add Fenwick.
I know the Catholic League has Divisions now based on size of enrollment....Is this set up like the old Public League hoops where you can win your way up the ladder and change Divisions also?

GO MUSTANGS!

No, you can not win your way up the ladder - it's all based on size of enrollment.

Does Hales still have a football team, and if they do, is Rita or Carmel ever on their schedule?

I remember St. Rita Stadium at 63rd and Claremont....The Rockpile.
Pat Cronin had some great teams.

I am ancient enough to remember the "Magnificent" Mendel Monarchs...an Augustinian School like Rita, with wild assed Lou Guida as the head coach.

Not sure if Hale still has a squad - they would be in a different division than Rita or Carmel because of the size of their enrollment - I don't recall ever seeing them on the schedule since I starting following Rita.

They probably pull a little from Loyola and the smarter kids from Beverly. Ignatius is, and has been for several decades, a regional school. There was a kid who commuted on the South Shore from Indiana when I was there.

They really should pattern themselves after Loyola. The Ramblers get at least one average student/good football player into an Ivy League school each year. That should be enough motivation to get decent players into the program.

FYI, they have also taken the State class B Boys and Girls Lacrosse titles for the last 3-4 years. The Mighty Wolfpack is getting bumped up to class A next season. Putting them in the same division as Lake Forest Academy, Glenbrook South, Hinsdale Central, Fremd, Fenwick etc. My wife is a member of the class of '86.

Prolly not. Her best friend most likely. Hard for most guys to not lust after a 6'2" blonde with a big rack.

Hales does still have a team. They don't have any of the big dogs this year on the schedule and are in the White division with St laurence, St Iggy, Gordon, Leo, De La Salle and Bishop McNamara. They do have a crossover game with Fenwick this year.
