Traded to the BO Sox for Mark Kotsay. Pods Wise Kotsay who's out?

I thought "showcasing" him was a big reason BA was sent down instead of Wise. Now Wise will be cut to make room for Kotsay.

OK. BA does not hit well enough to be an everyday player. I think he has proven that to be true. He has also proven to be worthy of a roster spot as a 4-5th outfielder because he is an excellent defensive replacement. He makes nothing and is under control for several more years. So what if he was disgruntled?

So now, when the cut payroll next year, we will see them waste 1 million on some backup when they could have had BA doing the same job for half the cost.

AND FOR WHAT? I could see doing it even for some low level prospect, but Mark freaking Kotsay? Expensive, average to below average in CF, average to below average hitter.

KW has had a bad year.

The mystique of the WS has done Kenny well, but it's four years later and the team is average at best. Kenny should never, ever mention it again that the fans not showing up are the reason he can't field a good team. Why should fans go to see a .500 team and then get gouged for premium tickets?

The Sox need a revamping from top to bottom and that includes the front office.

The Sox are going to make the playoffs again with a roster that on paper doesn't look good. That says a lot about Kenny and Ozzie. I still believe Kenny is the best GM in town. The guy has the balls to make big moves and he doesn't care about giving up so called can't miss prospects to do it. When you look back you can't think of a deal where it's obvious Kenny didn't come out of top. I bashed him for the Swisher move but none of the pieces he gave up have really done anything. He got rid of future Cy Young winner McCarthy before everyone found out he wasn't that good. Sweaty Freddy was dealt at his peak as well. Kenny also has a knack for finding diamonds in the rough. I would love to see what he could do one day if he were allowed to spend.

Slow your roll champ. I really like KW and I think Ozzie is OK but...

The Sox were worse than the Yanks, Red Sox, Rays, Blue Jays and Angels at the end of last year. This year they are worse than the Yanks, Red Sox, Rays, Angels and arguably the Mariners, Rangers, Tigers and Twins.

Their position in playoff contention says NOTHING about KW or Ozzie. It's pure luck of the draw. The Mariners are in selling mode with a better record than the Sox.

but as we saw in the '09 All-Star game there was ONE Sox player.

I am a douchebag with nothing else better to do but be an annoying asshole. I am not funny, have nothing really to add but just vomit back statistics and follow a team that has been consistent at not sniffing the World Series for over one-hundred years.


BA is a very good outfielder and I would not be at all surprised if he does not play for Boston. Here, he always knew that if he did not produce, Ozzie was likely to put him back on the bench or send him back to the minors-in past seasons. That kind of pressure surely did not help a player who couldn't hit a pitch thrown by President Obama.

Kotsay was at one time thought of as a 5-tool prospect..
