I was thinking it was mostly because the defense was bad. Of course some people want to blame Kyle Orton for the loss in Minnesota when they forget that Peanut Tillman was roasted for a 100-yard touchdown in Minnesota.

Somebody said the Bears blew their playoff chances in the game against the Falcons when they played prevent (ala the Cardinals in the Super Bowl) and the Falcons kicked a last second field goal.

To answer the question in the subject line, because they fucking sucked on both sides of the ball and didn't deserve to make the playoffs.
I hope that Cutler will make both the offense and the defense better. I am looking forward to a season where the questions will be everywhere else but the QB position.

Lovie lost the Falcons game with the squib kick & prevent defense.
He also lost the Tampa Bay game
He also appointed Bob freaking Babich as Defensive coordinator, a position that he had never held before & was clearly not qualified for.
I have never been more excited about a Bears season than I am about the upcoming season with Jay Cutler...I just hope we dont have to listen to Lovie talk about how we get off the bus running.
For the first time, the Beaars have a QB who knows what the hell is going on. As stubborn as Lovie is, I hope he & Turner will listen to Cutler & take his suggestions & recommendations during a game regarding play calling & exploiting the Defense.

Jay Cutler for COACH!

Is there any way we can get him on the defensive line and returning kicks too?

Their defense couldn't stop anyone down the stretch, and they ranked 28th total. That's very un-Bear like.

Because we need to know if they've fixed what's broken.
