Wow, Terry actually woke up and showed the fire and the passion re: his hate for Teddy G.

Yes it was great. We need to hear more of that Terry.

Yeah, I didn't mind that yelling since it was a somewhat funny argument.

I enjoyed that whole transition. The Teddy G stuff was very good as well as the Meth Heads who were mad at B&B yesterday.

Dunno if it was just coincidence, but the news update right after that was about some celeb getting busted for methamphetamine possession.

I loved it. There was honest and genuine disagreement with a mix of passion. I want to hear Terry's whole no-no list.

I understand why Terry is upset, but let's be honest, a good portion of the media is conflicted. Terry's own show has Stoney on commenting about the Cubs. Is he objective? There are many many examples of this going on.

Why does Terry hate Teddy so much?

It goes back to the fact that Teddy has sat in with Mac on his show in the past, has a relationship outside of professional (playing golf, etc.) then states in his column that Mac's show was/is his favorite in Chicago and this chapped Terry - understandably so.

I agree with Terry that it is hard to give an honest and fair evaluation of a show when you have a personal relationship with said host(s).

Mac took the other side of the argument and tried to defend Teddy - but not really.

It was pretty damn entertaining.

I heard it but I must have missed the reason.
Seems like a weak reason to "hate" someone though.
It's not like Teddy ripped or slammed Terry.
He just likes Mac & his show.

It's pretty hard to write an objective column while one of the hosts you are reviewing has his penis in your mouth. I agree with Terry.

Teddy Greenstein has no journalistic integrity. It would be different if say a Richard Roeper co-hosted,then stated it's his favorite show in his column. Richard Roeper does not cover the local media scene in Chicago. That is the problem PERIOD EXCLAMATION POINT

I agree. Someone please highlight this thread and post it that I disagree with Mac and agree with Terry.

Well, now, if you're the media critic, slam B&B, praise MJH, then appear on said show as a guest host... Well, you might see a reason for Terry being upset with the guy.

Flipside is, this is sports journalism, so who ya crappin?

I agree with Terry's point, but that being said this is textbook Terry.

No way does he go off on this tangent if Teddy is sitting in today for Meatpants.

His fire and passion really comes out when the person he's targeting isn't anywhere in the building.

I think Teddy did a great job when he sat in for Mac and I'm looking forward to listening to the Mac and Teddy show.

I neither agree nor disagree with Terry. I am indifferent on his opinion... simply wanted to know the genesis of his disdain for Teddy G. Like many of you... I found it interesting and some good points have been made here on both sides. Like I said... I don't have a side... just interested in what's coming out of the box. If Terry wants to stay out of transitions on days when Teddy sits in (pre-empted by White Sox so it won't be evident tomorrow)... that's his choice. I'll press on (Al).

Gee, I hope Teddy being there won't force TB to refuse to come in to the studio that day.

Mac: "Indifferent" and doesn't have a side

try, NCM, i don't care. if that contributes to my being a pussy... have at it. When Terry says something or does something that really does get under my skin... you will know about it. And so will he.

That is not a good example of a real conflict of interest. Even the fact that the Cubs chose not to rehire him is not a conflict.

The conflict appears when the writer has a financial stake in the success of the subject matter he is addressing...like Glazer and his budding training center.

I guess you could say the more Stone bashes the Cubs the better off the White Sox may be. I don't think there is any objective evidence that would bear out the argument but I could see it.
