Spaulding - thank you for conveying perfectly what I was trying to say.

This is not at all what comes across when you post. Your defense of him (just as odd as the criticisms) seems very personal even though I don't think you know him. You also seem to want things to be fair or nice but that's not life....I'm just saying. I think you are alright.

Spaulding - that's fair. I put a lot of passion and emotion into many things in life - certainly not just my defense or like of a certain Chicago radio personality. But I understand that noone sees that side of me here on the board, so at times I come off a little meatball-ish.

I'm working on it.

Nothing to work on. Be who you are but accept the praise and criticism.

So Shirtless - are you going to be a man of your word? Does that mean that starting today we can expect no more threads or comments about how you dislike this show?

If so, you will be the first one of the haters ever to live up to your word.

I'm counting on you...

Wow, it looks like I've just been served a Quintuple D.
A Degenerate Dave Double Dog Dare. :P

Let me address your concerns this way:

1. Are you serious when you ask me if I plan to be a man of my word? My WORD??????
Isn't this the kind of macho posturing BS that started your brief yet hilarious feud with Shakes?
Are you going to challenge me to a fight if I ever again admit to listening to the show?

2. To the best of my knowledge, I've never authored a thread in the Mac section, but I will continue to post
in any section I fucking want to. If you don't like it, feel free to TYFCOAGOAGSA.
That's an acronym for Turn Your Fucking Computer Off And Go Outside And Get Some Air. (thanks TM)

3. I count on you to not take this post too seriously. Probably not good for your blood pressure.

4. Again, when did I ever promise not to post again about something I don't like? I do it all the the time.

5. I don't like your favorite show, or it's hosts, but if I have any further thoughts on the subject, I'll be sure
to post them in the RIGHT SECTION.

6. DD/Mac theme song = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDVJ_lfWqhQ

Didn't the show with your name attached to it have the "Sodfather" on twice in a week?

Do tell what made that appointment radio.

It did indeed, Seacrest. I was fishing in Canada when Meatpants sought the company of the Sodfather for the second straight week. I have teased him about it several times.... and politely requested we don't talk to His Sodness again until there is a story that actually merits his presence. I am all for having him on once a year to be silly about sod and sand.

OK, I'll be the lone voice in the wilderness (the place where Jesse's trees fall and no one's there to see it), and say I find interviews with the players incredibly boring the vast majority of the time. I consume talk radio to enjoy the personalities of the professional on-air talent, their opinions on current events, and the banter with callers. The entirely predictable, banal, and sometimes embarrassing interviews with the players are nothing more than a waste of time and effort.

To the bigger picture, it's amazing the boldness that goes on sometimes where listeners think the on-air personalities are required to cater to their constant barrage of advice, and customize a show to suit their personal tastes, simply because they are a listener. I know this, if I ever were able to land a job as the host of a radio show, I sure as hell would make it exactly and precisely how *I* want it to be, and how I think it should be. I would make it the show *I* would want to hear if I were on the other side. Then it would be up to the public and the advertisers to support it, or not.

I would run my show as a chef, not like I'm running a cafeteria. And I don't understand why anyone interested in listening to a quality show would want anything different. The worst films and TV shows are the ones that are run past focus groups all during the production process.

Let the creators create, and the consumers consume, or not, as they please.

- You STINK, and I get 15 letters a day telling me the same!

- What's the word on the street??

some people think a politician is elected to cast each vote consistent with the majority of his constituency

others think he is elected with the implication that he will vote in a way that is best for the majority of his constituency
