Nice first inning by Contreras. He looks like a different pitcher from his last couple starts. Hopefully he can keep it going for another 5 or 6 innings.

Not a real good series there.

Very disappointing end to what could have been a great homestand. 3 games back and leaving for a 6 game roadie while the Tigers play 4 in Beantown (sorry to go a little Shark on everyone). Don't shit the bed, Boys.

Sox are not going to win this division--book it! Everyone assumes their pitching will lead them to win the Central.

Not gonna happen. Again, Contreras and 5th starters SUCK! Dank is struggling, bullpen is too inconsistent as of late.

Peavy will get rocked in his few starts before he gets his groove. And the very disappointing Buerhle (as of late) is just too damn disappointing. It's been 3 damn starts since the perfect game; let's go Buerhle!

Not gonna happen.

I don't think they lose this division because of the pitching - they are going to lose it on their defense. You just can't win consistently giving a team 29 outs a game.

Ahhhhhhh......reality has set in. The euphoria over Buerhle's perfecto and the aquisition of the injured and unable to contribute Peavy has subsided and reality has taken it's place.

Keyser, going a little SHARK is cool and you're more than welcome to. I couldn't agree with you more, after taking 3 of 4 from the East-leading Yankees last weekend & 2 of 3 from West-leading Anaheim, the White Sox should've gone for the jugular vs. the lowly Indians and didn't. The usually reliable Mark Buehrle struggled yet again, Carlos Torres couldn't find Bridgeport let alone the plate in a miserable start that I was at Saturday, and Jose Contreras lost whatever momentum he had in the 5th on a hot & humid afternoon at U.S. Cellular Field today. Given the fact the Sox are out West for 6 in places like Seattle & Oakland that haven't been too kind lately, the Southsiders could be in for another rough roadie. As for the other kind of Sox, the Red Sox are bleeding worse than Curt Schilling's bloody sock in 2003. Even though you'd like to think they can take out their frustrations on the Tigers at Fenway starting tomorrow, that team with David "Big Papi" Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia and Kevin Youkilis have stopped hitting all of a sudden. Besides, Terry Francona's ballclub is having pitching issues of their own...

It sure has on the North side. Cubs beat up on the powder puff AAA teams that are the Reds and Nationals, but then lose to a couple of the better teams in the NL in the Phillies and Rockies.

. . . . yes, I should've bitched about the defense as well. I believe Kenny Williams was quoted earlier saying that he's not concerned with the defense.

Your what hurts?

Hold the bus...if the Cubs win today, they split the series with the Rockies Dumbass!!! and at least the Rockies are a good team (20 games over .500) while the Sux lose their series to one of the worst teams in the league.

Leave it to a Cubs fan to celebrate a (potential) series split.

Were you expecting something else? The Cubs haven't won a series against a +.500 since April. Zambrano gets hurt (again) during BP, and A-Ram is still not 100%. They get 17 hits and lose 11-5? Sucky.

The Cubs have a creampuff schedule ahead of them and I'm sure we'll hear about their dominance, blah, blah, blah.

Here's to a Rockies pounding again! :D

Yeah, the NL sucks, but April...really? I thought the Astros were (barely) over .500 and they took 3 of 4 pretty recently.

Of what? A Sox fan posting in the White Sox section?

If you are referring to my post yesterday that there are more "regulars" who are Cubs fans in the Sox section who come to stir things up then vice versa then what relevance does a Sox fan posting in the Sox section have?

If the Cubs win today, they split. That IS NOT something I would "celebrate", but it would not constitute a losing series. The Sux losing 2-3 to the lowly Indians...that would. Dumbass!!

The Sux just had a "creampuff" series and LOST 2 of 3. No Victor Martinez, no Cliff Lee, no Mark DeRosa, no Carl Pavano, no Ryan Garko, yet they whipped the Sux just the same....the 48-63 creampuff Indians, who-by the way, the Cubs swept.

Again, the Cubs have not won a series against a team that is over .500 for over 3 months! I failed to see you refute or deny this point.

Also, so what the Sox lost a series to the Indians? One series does not a season make.

How could I forget?

The Cubs have played the "Weak Sisters of the Poor" so far, as Hanley said this morning.

They sure are and they'll come calling tomorrow. If the Rockies and Cardinals hang on tonight the cubs would be 3 games back going into that series. Ouch babe.
