As far as I know, lefty Lucas French was one of the pitchers the Mariners got from the Tigers in the Jarrod Washburn trade at the MLB Trade Deadline. Unfortunately, not one of the White Sox has ever faced French, and the same can be said for Tuesday's pitcher, righty Doug Fister. Although Fister came in the 9th inning of Saturday's 10-4 Seattle loss to Tampa Bay, it could be his ML debut as a starter Tuesday night. White Sox fans, I think you know what that means whenever they face a pitcher they've never seen, and the Mariners are planning to start 2 Sox hitters have NEVER faced EVER!

I know I easily get down on these guys, but for this series, I think they're going to take 2/3.

Games 1 & 3, they win. Just have a feeling.

Seattle is over .500, so it's safe to say the Cubs would certainly lose the series.

They aren't hitting once again, tonight depending on walks, the starting rotation is in a slump, and the bullpen is a disaster zone. Luckily, Detroit lost tonight, but given this remaining schedule, I still have a hard time seeing how they suddenly go on a run for the division title. Granted, they don't have to be very good, but they haven't shown the ability to get more than 3 or 4 games over .500, and usually fall right back there when they do get that far over .500. Very frustrating team as I think they have the talent, but it just hasn't clicked.

The Sox are currently down 6-4, bottom 7, and Scott Linebrink is now in the game. I think it's time for me to hit the sack soon. I'm expecting to wake up to a 9-5 loss in the morning.

Hmmm another loss. What is that, 3 of the last 4 they have dropped? But now Sux fans can look to their newest savior Alex Rios, who is so good, his team was willing to give him up without any compensation whatsoever, just to be rid of the contract. He's hitting just .264 and had just 15 homers and 79 RBI last year and has never had better than 24 and 85 in his career. Now the Sux are on the hook for the 57 million he is owed, while the Blue Jays are dancing in the streets, celebrating the fact that they shed the underachiever. Sux on their way to dropping another series....

I don't think the Blue Jay fans are dancing in the streets over the moves their GM has made this year, especially the past couple months. Why would a team trade for Halladay now knowing the Jays won't pay him when his contract is up? And all this money they are "saving" by not having Rios on the books means nothing if they don't go get someone.

And why are Cubs faithful so worried about the Sox payroll all of a sudden? Its quite amusing really.

Steve, your POS team just lost another series to a + .500 team and got CRUSHED again while doing so. So much for Cy Gorzelany. Your GM has made bad deal upon bad deal so you have no room to talk about potential bad deals. JP Riccardi is a horrible GM and the Sox gave nothing up for it. KW runs rings (pun intended) around Jim Hendry with regards to making solid deals.

I hope the Phils pounds your team into the ground this series. Watch out, they are over .500.

I never wanted Gorzellany and was not real optomistic that he could repeat the performance he gave against the weaker Reds. I have railed against the moves Hendry has made for 2009 since early winter and have continued to do so. Riccardi still made a great move to get rid of Rios' salary. The guys production was okay for the salary he has made so far, but his salary is back loaded and as his salary goes up considerably in the next couple of years, the Sux will likely regret taking on the 57 million owed on it. Besides, you have no idea as to whether or not Toronto might have a stud at AAA that they feel can take that spot and give them at least similar (.264) production, if not better. Just because I think Kenny has made a bad move, doesn't mean that I believe that Hendry is the better GM. I don't. I think if Kenny had the GM position with the Cubs, with all the prestige (players WANT to go there) and money that the GM has to spend there, he would do a great job. But as things stand, he has a hard time getting top talent, as either the players prefer to go elsewhere or the Sox will not match the money other teams offer. If they were going to spend 57 million, they should have gotten Torri Hunter when they could have.

The only reason players "WANT" to go to the Cubs is for the money, the fame from playing in a big-market and that the skippers (Dusty, Lou) will let them do want ever the fuck they want a la Zambrano. Reports all day long say that Rios had a rough flight, and had to go back to Toronto to pick up his belongings before making the cross-country trip to Seattle...That's over 2,000 miles of travel and 3 time zones! Remember, Rios was in New York thinking he was going to play for the Blue Jays vs. the Yankees before getting scratched last night.
