Attention Fantasy Football Nerds -- TMZ shot footage of Michael Vick in Chicago last night -- which begs the million dollar question ... is Vick destined for Da Bears!?

Dude wasn't in the mood to talk when we spotted him at O'Hare Airport in Chi-Town -- but with rumors swirling that he's close to a deal with a mystery NFL team, this footage could be a HUGE clue.

The message here -- if your commissioner is stupid enough to hold an early draft, don't select Jay Cutler just yet...

UPDATE: A source connected with the Bears organization says Vick is "probably not in town to meet with the team."

WHAT?

That may be the dumbest thing I've ever seen.

Does the person who made that post believe that Vick is going to take Cutler's spot as the starting qb?

I would have no problem with Vick being a backup here. It would beat the hell out of the two headed monster of Hanie & Basenez (sp?).

If Vick has decent hands, he could be a slot receiver. Hell, on the Bears he might be the #1 WR! And if ever there is a guy who is cut out to be a Wildcat specialist, it is Vick.
I dont see Jerry & Lovie signing Vick after the Tank Johnson crap. What I want to know is why they didnt take a run at either Holt or Harrison?

I hope Dungy hasn't been in Lovie's ear about this. This rumor is out there but I don't see the Bears signing him.

I bet Vick is better than whoever he would replace on the roster. I'd take a chance on him.

How awesome would it be that our #1 and #2 WR's could be a former QB and a converted kick returner?

Putting what Vick did aside, from a purely football standpoint I
don't see what the Bears would lose bringing him into camp for
a few weeks. Yeah, there is going to be a media circus, but it
wouldn't be much worse than it already is with Cutler. If he
doesn't pan out by end of camp then cut him. Even if he sticks
with the team he will be out the first 4-6 games of the season.
His upside intrigues me, even if he is just a slot receiver, a
Wildcat QB for 2 plays a game and a 2nd or 3rd backup QB.

Pretty sure Bearison is Bearison and has been around much longer than John Kirk.

David Haugh says "no way" according to a Bears Management Source on his facebook page.

Completely agree. Michael Vick at 75 to 80% of what he was is better than the current # 2 and 3 QB's on the Bears.

Are you Caleb Hanie's mother? Your blind love for the team's current backups is downright ridiculous.

Who would the Bears have to bring in as a backup for you to be excited about?

My statement about Dungy/Lovie was a joke.

I have no blindlove for our backups. They were the same ones as we had 5 months ago when Orton was here and nobody said shit about them. The Bears aren't going to need backups, if they do they will be in a world of shit anyway. I think they are going Cutler or bust so these discussions are a waste of time.

So lets say the Bears have the scenario of signing Vick for minimum money equal to what Basenez is making, you wouldn't get consider making that deal? Vick has reached rock bottom, he is not going to command any kind of real money. This move would be a no-brainer.

Vick's league minimum is more than Basanez minimum based upon service time.

So, not only is this thread devoid of anything intelligent because of the content that is here, it's also dreadful because nobody has pointed out that Tony Dungy + Michael Vick + O'Hare doesn't equal Bears, but equals Colts.

Or they're just in Chicago to get blown. Or to spend some time together in Chicago, 'cause God knows nobody comes here unless it's sports-related.

Vick Speaks at DeKalb Humane Society Event

(WSB Radio) Former Falcons quarterback Michael Vick joins forces with the Humane Society of the US in an effort to prevent dog fighting. He spoke to a private group of dog owners at the New Life Community Center in DeKalb County thought to be prone to dog fighting.

It's Vick's first of what's expected to be many public appearances for the HSUS.

"Michael Vick gave a powerful statement about the terrible things he did in the past and how he now wants to be part of the solution," says HSUS president Wayne Pacelli.

He tells WSB's Sandra Parrish the two years Vick spent behind bars appears to have made him a changed man.

Vick will speak again on Wednesday at an HSUS event in Chicago.

Phil, Kordell Stewart has joined the big boys in Bristol, CT. Kordell will be part of ESPNEWS' College Football coverage every Saturday afternoon, I believe starting September 5th on their equivalent to "The Blitz". He'll be analyzing college football games, complete with live look-ins from games airing on ESPN, ESPN2, ABC Sports (ESPN on ABC), ESPN Classic, ESPNU and other outlets that are part of the ESPN PPV & ESPN Regional package throughout the afternoon & evening...

No I don't want Vick here at all. I don't think he is a very good qb and has been out 2 years. We have enough wrs that have no experience. On top of that I think he has character issues and would be a nightmare for a team that is looking like it is going to have some trouble. If somebody wants to give him a second chance great, I just hope it is not Chicago.

Maybe they could sign him and trade him to Denver for Kyle Orton. He'd be a good backup. :P

In response to a sighting of quarterback Mike Vick at O'Hare Airport, Brad Biggs of the Chicago Sun-Times reports that Vick's trip to the Windy City doesn't involve a meeting with the local NFL team.

Per Biggs, Vick is believed to be in Chicago to engage in charity work of some type.

Meanwhile, Joe Buck's favorite web site has updated its "Vick's in Chicago" story to report that Vick isn't meeting with the Bears. Per TMZ, Bears media services manager Jim Christman said that Vick is "definitely not joining the team."

He'll take an uneventful cab over there for less than $15 ... no tip.
